If you’ve recently wrapped up the second installment of Squid Game and eagerly anticipate more, you might be pleasantly surprised by the potential short wait. Here’s what we know so far about a possible Squid Game Season 3!
Squid Game Season 3 release date
2025 will be the year we finally get Squid Game Season 3! This news was shared by Netflix via a post on their social media platforms.
“Everyone say hi to Chul-su,” Netflix stated. “Squid Game 3 coming 2025.”
Furthermore, during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the director, Hwang Dong-hyuk, disclosed that Seasons 2 and 3 of Squid Game were simultaneously scripted and shot consecutively.
He mentioned that he wrote Seasons 2 and 3 consecutively, we shot them one after the other, and they’re now in post-production. They are scheduled for release sometime in 2025.

Here’s a look at the teaser for Squid Game Season 3, released by Netflix on X. The post contained a video introducing an animatronic character named Chul-su, who made a surprising appearance in the mid-credits scene following the finale of Squid Game Season 2.
Squid Game Season 3 leaks
It has been suggested that the third season of Squid Game might premiere on June 27, based on a screenshot posted to Reddit.
Additionally, Forbes mentioned an incident where a video was unintentionally posted and subsequently taken down on the YouTube channel of Netflix Korea.
At this year’s Golden Globe awards, the director of Squid Game clarified false reports about a May 2025 release date and suggested that Season 3 might come out sooner.
He informed The Hollywood Reporter that while he’s not certain it’s May, he believes it will be released this year. Put simply, the project is in progress and will arrive sooner than one might anticipate.
As a dedicated fan of Squid Game, I can confirm that we don’t have solid details yet, but what we do know is, we might be diving back into the world of the game by 2025!
