Squid Game Season 3: One Ending I REFUSE To Accept!

Let’s discuss Squid Game Season 3 because I am nervous about how it will end.

If you’re familiar with me, you’ll notice that I’m likely an ardent fan of this particular series. Ever since it debuted as one of the top shows to stream on Netflix, through the long wait for Season 2 and discovering why the games in the second season were divided into two parts, my admiration has remained steadfast.

Concerningly, South Korean TV series have provided us with some exceptional shows over the past decade. However, I’m apprehensive about one particular issue – it stems from a minor element in the first season which could potentially reappear in the Season 3 finale, and I sincerely hope that this doesn’t occur.

And it involves death. Because, of course, it does. Let’s get into it.

The Second Season Certainly Upped The Stakes

One standout aspect of the upcoming season of Squid Game is the increased intensity, so much so that I had to extend my Netflix subscription just to ensure everyone in my household could witness it. I found it incredibly engaging.

In the debut episode, the shocking revelation involving the gun, the wild shift in plotlines, and all the other captivating elements – they all added up to an incredibly engaging experience. The next seven episodes were some of the most enthralling viewing hours for me as I found myself utterly hooked.

Indeed, you’re well aware that such a task can be quite formidable, given the existing tension in this series. After all, each season presents a fight unto death, and with so many beloved characters, it means many fan-favorites may not make it through. Thus, any attempt to escalate the intensity for a show like this is truly remarkable.

But that brings me to my biggest worry: I don’t want that to happen again.

But I Really Hope They Don’t Just Kill Everyone Again – Especially The Fan Favorites

Okay, look, I know this is Squid Game. I know people are going to die. I’m not an idiot.

After living for twenty-six years and experiencing the intense moments on series like “Game of Thrones” and “The Walking Dead,” or any other heartrending events, one inevitably builds up a protective layer. I understand that such shows often involve unavoidable deaths.

Simultaneously, I find myself yearning for a slight change from what we received after the first season, and even a hint of something new towards the end of the second season. And I’m aware of how the Season 2 finale unfolded – it indeed leaves a strong impression that many characters might meet their demise.

Actually, I’d prefer it doesn’t come to pass. Not in the slightest, and it’s not for the reason you might assume. The first season had quite a few unforgettable character deaths that left fans heartbroken – there were so many tributes to them online.

The reason it left such a lasting impression is because it dared to eliminate major characters even in the initial seasons, which is one of the reasons why it became a globally renowned HBO series that everyone was talking about. Such an approach is indeed permissible.

Despite this, I’ve got my own justifications for not wanting the storyline to culminate in another tragic ending involving mass violence, and for the series to revisit such a theme once more. Let’s delve into the reasons behind my perspective.

While It Would Be Heartbreaking, It Would Go Against Everything The Show Has Fought For

Indeed, if the series were to repeat its shocking finale by killing off all characters once more, it could leave a lasting impression. However, such an outcome contradicts the core themes and struggles the show has been addressing up until now.

Since the captivating premiere of “Squid Game,” I’ve found myself drawn to a series that masterfully explores the ruthless machinery of capitalism, and the survival instincts within us all, no matter how desperate or morally questionable the means may be, in our pursuit for a better life. Regrettably, even as Gi-hun attempted to break free from this system in Season 2, he was once again ensnared by the relentless grip of the guards and the enigmatic Front Man.

Stripping it all away effortlessly would trivialize the message this series has been conveying – that despite a crushing regime which presses upon ordinary people like us, we have the power to resist and transform the system, if only we are determined enough.

Sure, not in the way that Gi-hun is doing, because this is at an extreme, but you get the picture.

If they were to kill off all characters again, it would undermine the overall themes and moral values of the series. Watching a strong transgender character being killed cold-bloodedly would be heartbreaking. Seeing a pregnant woman being killed due to her despair over providing for her child is my deepest fear.

Indeed, such an outcome for the series would be disheartening…Yet I’m hoping we can steer clear of that path once more. However, I do have an idea that might work better.

I Almost Hope That The People Make It While The Front Man And Gi-hun Take Each Other Out

It’s clear that Gi-hun serves as the main character in “Squid Game.” I think it’s natural to cheer for him. However, contrary to popular opinion, I secretly wish that by the end of the series, both Gi-hun and the Front Man meet their demise.

From the start to the finish, it’s all about them. For what seems like eternity, this game of cat-and-mouse has been carried on their shoulders, most notably in Season 2. In my thoughts, I yearn for a grand confrontation between these two powerhouses, and somehow, miraculously, the remaining contestants manage to break free from that confined room.

It wouldn’t be a walk in the park, or an easy, bloodless scenario. It might resemble a scene from an action movie, complete with gunfire echoing through the air and blood staining the walls as if it were some unusual perfume they wanted to spread around. But compared to everyone perishing, leaving Gi-hun isolated again, it would be a preferable outcome.

As a movie enthusiast, deep within me, there’s this unspoken hope that our beloved series might find a somewhat content ending. It’s not definitive, but I can’t help but imagine a bittersweet conclusion if the two main characters could share a moment together before moving on, while the others manage to survive. A sacrifice, a willingness, anything that brings some sense of closure and resolution.

Regardless of the scenario, “Squid Game” Season 3 is set to debut in June 2025 according to the television schedule for that year. This means we won’t have to wait much longer to uncover the mysteries. Until then, I’ll find myself nervously biting my nails, with anticipation causing a whirlwind of anxiety coursing through my body, wondering how this renowned series will ultimately conclude.
