Squid Game season 2 sets incredible new Netflix record
Squid Game season two has set an impressive new viewership record for Netflix.
Following its record-breaking debut as Netflix’s most-watched TV premiere with 68 million views in merely four days, the Korean drama has further gained momentum, amassing an additional 58.2 million views within its initial seven-day span.
Over these past 11 days, the series has accumulated an astonishing 126.2 million views, setting a new record for any Netflix series in terms of rapid viewership as reported by Variety.
Currently, the second season is holding the second spot on Netflix’s list of most-watched non-English shows, trailing only behind the debut season of “Squid Game.” But with several months remaining before it wraps up, there’s a chance that season two might surpass its current position.
Three years on from the initial season, Squid Game season two finds Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) back in the dangerous arena, this time with the determination to put an end to these lethal games forever.
A third season is coming soon, with the creator promising fans it won’t take as long as the last three years to arrive.
He mentioned recently that he expects to reveal the release date for season 3 shortly, with a likely launch window of summer or autumn in the coming year.
