Supercell has announced it will be shutting down its game, Squad Busters. A final update is planned for December 2025, and the game will remain playable for a few months after that, before it officially closes down around mid-2026.
Squad Busters servers will remain online until mid-2026 before the full shutdown
Squad Busters was a vibrant action game from Supercell, uniting characters from all their popular games. It officially launched worldwide on May 29, 2024, but was tested earlier with beta versions starting in 2023 and a limited release in April 2024.
The game quickly became popular and received good feedback for its lively combination of characters from the Clash, Brawl Stars, and Boom Beach worlds, as well as its enjoyable team-based gameplay. However, Supercell acknowledges that the game didn’t ultimately meet their high standards for long-term quality, as they do with their most successful games.

The developers hoped the Heroes Update would change the game’s course, but it didn’t solve its fundamental problems. By the beginning of 2025, Supercell had to decide whether to continue working on Squad Busters or start new projects.
They decided to stick with their original plan, wanting to create games players would love for a long time. The introduction of Heroes with the May 2025 ‘1st Anniversary’ update and the “2.0” changes really split the fanbase, though.
Transfers can be made for the purchases to any other Supercell game
Starting October 30th, we’ve turned off the ability to make purchases within the app. Then, on November 10, 2025, you’ll be able to move any purchases you made in 2025 to another Supercell game you play. If you enjoyed playing Squad Busters, you can also get free bundles and special crossover items from the Supercell Store until the end of 2025.

Players have had a variety of reactions to the news. While some were disappointed with recent updates, others were simply sad to see a promising game end. Common sentiments included acknowledging it was enjoyable while also recognizing its unrealized potential – many fans expressed it as a “fun ride” with “so much potential.”
On November 13th, Supercell will publish a Q&A to address player questions and provide more details about their recent decision. They’re also looking into ways to fully share the story of Squad Busters and have created a form where players can submit their questions.
