Squad Busters announce Archer Queen and Mortis are being permanently removed
Story Highlights
- Archer Queen and Mortis will be permanently removed from Squad Busters starting Tuesday, April 29.
- One should merge as many of these characters before the removal to avoid losing them without compensation.
- The characters are being removed in their current forms, hinting at possible new versions returning in future updates.
Supercell’s Squad Busters is set for an update where two beloved characters, the Archer Queen and Mortis, will no longer be part of the game as permanent fixtures, effective from Tuesday, April 29, 2025. From this date onwards, these characters will no longer appear in their present form within the game.
Compensation for the removals will be provided in the Squad Busters May 2025 update
After their removal, you won’t find the Archer Queen or Mortis in any chests, deals in the shop, or squad rosters in Squad Busters. Therefore, it is recommended that you combine as many Archer Queens and Mortises as you can before the cutoff date.
Could it be that the Archer Queen and Mortis have gone AWOL? Incredible, really! 🤯
🚨 IMPORTANT UPDATE 🚨
Take a look at the in-game updates to prepare for this significant shift!— Squad Busters (@SquadBustersx) April 24, 2025
As an eager enthusiast, I can’t stress enough the need for prompt action regarding any unmerged versions that might linger post-removal. Rest assured, there won’t be any financial reimbursement for these leftovers. But fear not! With the arrival of the May update, there will be some enticing rewards on offer, serving as a sweetener to help ease the transition.
The remuneration is determined by the highest level you achieve with these characters, and this advancement gets passed on to a randomly selected Squad member at the same level. To illustrate, if you reach the Ultimate Archer Queen status, you’ll receive a random Squad member of equivalent rank, the Ultimate Squaddie.
In May, a fresh form of currency is being implemented to aid your advancement. This new system takes into account the worth of converting Babies, thereby providing a more balanced approach to the unpredictable nature of Squaddie replacements.
Additionally, if you have any skins for the Archer Queen or Mortis characters, you will receive Style Tickets as compensation. Unfortunately, losing such powerful attackers and versatile characters can be difficult, but I’m afraid we don’t have an explanation yet as to why this decision was made.

It’s interesting to note that these characters are being taken out in their current incarnations. This could imply that there might be a chance for these characters to reappear in different forms or updates down the line. However, we don’t have any specific information about this yet; let’s stay tuned for future developments.
