Spotify introduces its newest audio format: Lossless Listening

Uncompressed, high-resolution audio files, as the company stated, offer listeners the ability to stream music in its purest form, with minimal data loss and optimal sound quality.

Originally, when a musician shared their compositions on a streaming service, the quality of the music often diminished during the encoding process, resulting in some loss of detail. However, Spotify introduces Lossless Listening, allowing listeners to experience and appreciate all intricate details within the original audio files as they were intended.

On Spotify, lossless audio files are bigger than standard formats. This means that when using Bluetooth, the high-quality feature cannot function because there’s insufficient bandwidth for transmission. If you try to use it with Bluetooth, the file will get compressed and played at a normal quality level instead.

To enjoy Lossless Audio on Spotify as a premium user, you’ll need to activate it within your account settings. Once enabled, a special icon will be displayed during playback.

At the moment, you can utilize Spotify across various devices including mobiles, tablets, and desktops. The premium version of Spotify charges $11.99 per month, whereas its standard version is complimentary but includes advertisements.
