Mixed reactions

Reddit users have voiced criticism towards the new Wild Rift champion skins, stating they find the designs unimpressive and hard to distinguish between champions like Dr. Mundo and Galio, or Kalista and Karma. One user noted that Talon has received four skins in the same year of his release and is now getting a legendary skin at the start of the new year. This criticism has been explained by Talon’s popularity within the gaming community.

There’s a question hanging over whether the Splendor Opus skin collection might be integrated into a different random-draw system, but this hasn’t been officially announced yet.

Gacha system in Wild Rift skins?

In December, the gacha system made its debut in League of Legends with the release of the Exalted Fractured Jinx skin, and it didn’t receive a warm welcome from fans who were critical of the high cost of the cosmetic item. Similar backlash emerged when news about Sett’s new Exalted skin surfaced. This conversation about expensive skins has been ongoing for some time now, even dating back to the introduction of Faker’s Hall of Legends skins.

It appears that the gacha system will remain a part of League of Legends for some time. Additionally, some fans have accused Riot Games of dishonesty in their claims about the sluggishness of the process concerning these skins.

Riot Games stated that exceptional skins occur when we allow our teams to take the lead, enabling them to stretch their creative and technical limits to produce the finest skins for each champion, tailored to fit their distinct mythology and a particular theme.
