Spider-Man star joins ’90s thriller remake

As a devoted fan of both horror and suspense genres, I am absolutely thrilled to witness the convergence of these two realms with the upcoming remake of “The Hand That Rocks the Cradle.” The original film was a chilling masterpiece that left an indelible mark on my psyche, and I eagerly anticipate how this modern interpretation will captivate audiences.

Actor Martin Starr, known for his role in Spider-Man, will be featured in the forthcoming reboot of the movie The Hand That Rockes the Cradle.

1992’s initial thriller featured Rebecca De Mornay portraying Mrs. Mott, a widow grieving over her spouse who was falsely accused of sexual misconduct. After tragically losing her own child, Mrs. Mott feigned being a nanny for one of her husband’s accusers (Annabella Sciorra), with the objective of exacting revenge on the family.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the upcoming remake will star Maika Monroe as the nanny, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as the mother, and Raúl Castillo as the father. Starr is set to portray the family’s neighbor who aids the worried mother in this production.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be part of an exciting journey, directed by the talented Michelle Garza Cervera. We’re set to kickstart the film production right here in LA later this month. Can’t wait to see the magic unfold on the big screen!

Starr has gained recognition for portraying Mr. Harrington in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man series, starring Tom Holland. More recently, he took on the lead role in Magnus Martens’ horror film titled “There’s Something in the Barn.

In a more straightforward manner, the horror film revolves around an American family who, upon inheriting a secluded mountain cabin in Scandinavia, begin uncovering their heritage. To their dismay, they unearth malevolent elven entities lurking within.

Simultaneously, Monroe has also found success in horror films, most notably co-starring with Nicolas Cage in the hit movie “Longlegs”. In this film, Monroe portrays FBI agent Lee Harker, who pursues the satanic serial killer Longlegs (Cage), a role that emerged after a series of murders spanning over several decades.

As a gamer, I can’t help but share my raw, gut-wrenching response when I first laid eyes on the main character in this game. It was an instant connection that left me speechless and eager to dive deeper into their world.

Monroe shared that people frequently inquire if being on a horror movie set is frightening. However, he clarified that it’s not scary at all, but he feels incredibly fortunate to have had such an experience because, indeed, there were moments of apprehension – especially when he first saw him.

“It was quite cool that we got to capture that on camera. It was an experience I will never forget for sure.”
