Spider-Man & Ironheart’s Zelma Stanton: A Secret Team-Up Revealed!

Despite making her first appearance on screen in the finale of Ironheart within the MCU, Zelma Stanton has previously collaborated with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man at Disney’s Avengers Campus theme parks. In Ironheart’s final episodes, Stanton joined Riri Williams’ team to combat the villainous hoodlums. Portrayed by Regan Aliyah, this new MCU character is well-known in Marvel comics for her mastery of magic and intellectual prowess akin to Doctor Strange and Spider-Man respectively.

In the realm of Marvel’s captivating universe, I found myself thrilled to be part of the Ironheart series on Marvel Television, and while Mephisto stole the spotlight as the most intriguing addition, Zelma Stanton was a close second for me. Interestingly enough, this wasn’t her debut within the Marvel Studios sphere; sharp-eyed Marvel fans might have already spotted connections between her and previous Marvel Studios projects.

In light of the conclusion of Ironheart, as noted by Disney Parks enthusiast Peyton Liebler, it’s worth mentioning that Zelma’s name has been subtly referenced at Marvel’s Avengers Campus in various parks across the globe.

In the storyline of the park, it’s said that Zelma joined forces with Tom Holland’s character, Peter Parker, at the W.E.B. lab within the Avengers Campus. Her name was indeed featured on the “Mystic Amplifier Attachment” wearable toy from the Web Tech, which became available for purchase in the Avengers Campus starting in 2022.

As a cinephile, I happened to spot my name, Zelma Stanton, etched at the rear of the enchanting Magic Band accessory, proudly stating, “Created by: Zelma Stanton.

In the WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure attraction, the “Web Tech Mystic Amplifier Add-on” allows for a unique experience. Instead of regular web shots that guests usually throw, this attachment infuses the action with a touch of mystical magic, reminiscent of Doctor Strange’s abilities.

In the storyline of Disney Parks, it’s established that Zelma and Peter Parker (Spider-Man) have interacted or met each other prior to the events within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

At both Avengers Campus locations, you’ll find this nod to Zelma alongside numerous Marvel-inspired Easter eggs, such as hints about Miles Morales, Squirrel Girl, and several other characters who haven’t made their MCU debut yet.

In Disney+’s “Ironheart”, Zelma Stanton, portrayed by Regan Aliyah, teams up with the spirited Riri Williams (played by Dominique Thorne). Riri is determined to emulate the iconic armored hero, Iron Man, who was played by Robert Downey Jr. The series focuses on Thorne’s character, a brilliant teenager, following the storyline after the events of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”.

In Chicago, Riri finds herself confronting sinister elements belonging to Anthony Ramos’ criminal mastermind known as The Hood. You can stream all six episodes of this fresh series right now on Disney+, though the fate of the Ironheart character remains uncertain as we move forward.

What Does Zelma’s MCU Future Look Like?

Since Zelma’s grand entrance into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I can’t help but find myself gazing towards the distant future, curiosity bubbling up as I ponder what lies ahead for this charming sorceress.

In the finale of the streaming show, the disgraced Hood sought assistance from Zelma’s sweet-making family, requesting extraordinary aid for his upcoming paranormal mission. He explained that he required a kind of help akin to the supreme.

It appears that this situation may pave the way for Zelma’s continued involvement in the series, potentially taking on a role similar to overseeing a mysterious educational institution, such as a “Mystic Arts Academy,” where she could deepen her skills.

It was once planned for Marvel Studios to produce a series titled “Strange Academy” that could have been overseen by Zelma, but unfortunately, this project, along with two other streaming shows, has been put on hold by Marvel Studios in recent times.

It’s plausible that the character might reappear in Marvel’s proposed third Doctor Strange movie, or potentially in the upcoming blockbuster Avengers: Doomsday, where Riri Williams/Dominique Thorne has been somewhat secretive about her involvement.
