Spider-Man fans think they know who Sadie Sink is playing in new movie
Sadie Sink is reportedly joining the MCU for a highly anticipated sequel.
As reported by Deadline, it’s been announced that the star of Stranger Things will join forces with Tom Holland in Spider-Man 4, where Holland will reprise his role as the main character, Peter Parker.
This year, the next installment will begin shooting, overseen by director Destin Daniel Cretton. Marvel president Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal are set to produce this project.
There hasn’t been any confirmed announcement about Sink’s character yet, but devoted Spider-Man enthusiasts believe she might be portraying one of the three well-known characters.
A number of people continue to anticipate that Sink might embody Jean Grey, as whispers circulated towards the end of last year suggesting her as the front-runner for the role of this renowned Marvel mutant.
Rumors about an unidentified source hinted at the possibility of the X-Men being assimilated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, potentially leading to a fresh wave of movies within the series.
One enthusiast posted on platform X, “Jean Grey is on the horizon,” while another tweeted, “It seems the whispers might have been correct since I can envision her as a youthful Jean Grey. This hints at a forthcoming younger version of the X-Men in the MCU.
Jean Grey isn’t the only character that people are guessing about, as some fans believe that Sienna Miller might be portraying Gwen Stacy or Black Cat in this production.
One fan tweeted, “Sadie Sink as Black Cat seems spot-on casting,” while another hinted at the character being Black Cat, having previously eliminated Jean Grey from their guesses.
Another user stated, “I’ve come across theories about Jean Grey, but I believe Sony is more focused on developing their own Spider-Man universe rather than expanding the X-Men.
Her fiery red hair led some spectators to speculate that she might be set to reprise an established character within the series, boosting their confidence.
“She’s playing Mary Jane,” one fan tweeted, while another simple wrote “MJ duh.”
While many fans found this casting idea intriguing, others weren’t entirely convinced. One fan even expressed their hope that the producers wouldn’t swap out Zendaya, as the unique chemistry between her and Tom was considered incomparable by some.
Fans might need to be patient a bit longer to discover Sink’s character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but speculation is that her part will carry significant weight. In the 2021 film “Spider-Man: No Way Home”, Peter Parker removes his identity from the world following Doctor Strange’s spell casting.
The upcoming film titled “Spider-Man 4” is set to hit theaters on July 24, 2026, which is approximately two months following the release of “Avengers: Doomsday”.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is now available to watch on Netflix and Sky Cinema in the UK.
