Spider-Man Fans Can Enjoy a Brand New Day Way Earlier Than Expected

We’ve learned some new information and the release date for a Spider-Man: Brand New Day project, but there’s a twist that fans might not anticipate.

The new Spider-Man movie, officially titled Spider-Man: Brand New Day (and sometimes referred to as Spider-Man 4), is coming to US theaters this summer. Destin Daniel Cretton, who directed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, is directing, and Tom Holland will be back as Peter Parker, a.k.a. Spider-Man.

Marvel has revealed a new Spider-Man comic book series, “Spectacular Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” set to launch in May, as fans eagerly await the first trailer for Spider-Man 4.

What is the Spider-Man: Brand New Day comic?

The comic book series Spectacular Spider-Man: Brand New Day features writing by Dan Slott and illustrations by Marcus To. Cover art is by Phil Jimenez, and Marcos Martin created additional stories for the series. Originally published by Marvel Comics in 2008, the ‘Brand New Day’ storyline lasted nearly three years and spanned over a hundred issues.

The new Spider-Man series kicks off with a major discovery: Spider-Man finds the Lexicon, a crucial directory detailing all of Kingpin (Wilson Fisk)’s criminal activities. Spider-Man intends to use this information to dismantle the city’s criminal underworld, but he’s not the only one after it. Mr. Negative wants to sabotage his rival, and the Punisher (Frank Castle) is also hunting for the Lexicon. While taking the Lexicon seemed like a way to protect New York, it’s now made Spider-Man a huge target! This story is a continuous adventure that connects Spider-Man’s past, present, and future – don’t miss it!

Dan Slott shared that Spider-Man is his all-time favorite fictional character and that he genuinely enjoys writing the stories. He promised upcoming issues will reveal long-held secrets and introduce plot points with significant, lasting impacts on Spider-Man’s world, creating stories with real weight and consequences.
