After the debut of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Spider-Man: Fresh Start is slated to be the next movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film will have Tom Holland returning to his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, with Jon Bernthal portraying The Punisher/Frank Castle.

It hasn’t been officially verified by Marvel Studios if Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk character will feature in Spider-Man 4, but there have been persistent rumors suggesting an appearance of Bruce Banner, possibly in some form, within the film. The specifics about the plot for this movie are still kept tightly under cover.

On Instagram, Holland additionally posted a sneak peek at a “hidden photoshoot,” which you can see below by checking out @thollandrchive.

Although it’s plausible that Tom Holland might be hinting at Spider-Man 4, considering filming begins this week, the “secret” suggests it could be something different – possibly a role in Avengers: Doomsday, since the Russo Brothers are currently working on their MCU movie. However, Holland hasn’t been officially confirmed for the cast yet, and we can’t definitively say if that’s what he’s hinting at this moment.

It’s confirmed that the upcoming movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, will feature actors Sadie Sink from Stranger Things and Liza Colón-Zayas from The Bear. However, their roles in the film have not been disclosed as of now.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: A Fresh Start will be released in U.S. cinemas on July 31, 2026. On the other hand, Avengers: Doomsday is set for release on December 18, 2026, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars on December 17, 2027.
