Sony recently announced that the new title for this movie will be “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” which shares a name with the 2008 comic book storyline. Aside from the title, specific details about the film are scarce; however, it’s known that Liza Colón-Zayas from “The Bear” will join the cast in unspecified roles. Filming is scheduled to start later this year for a summer 2026 release, and there remain many unanswered questions about the sequel, one of which is particularly intriguing to fans everywhere.

As a diehard fan, I’ve observed the evolution of Spider-Man’s suits throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). In the climactic showdown against Vulture in my homemade suit, I fought valiantly before regaining the Stark suit. Then, in Avengers: Infinity War, I sported the Iron Spider suit that had been teased at the end of Homecoming, but with a color scheme more reminiscent of the original Spidey.

In Avengers: Endgame, I reappeared wearing the same Iron Spider suit, which remained my choice in Spider-Man: Far From Home. In the sequel, I donned a sleek all-black suit and created a new design inspired by my Homecoming suit, but with black replacing blue as the secondary color.

In No Way Home, Spidey’s suits underwent multiple changes. Initially, I was seen in the iconic red and black suit, later transitioning to a new Iron Spider suit adorned with a golden spider emblem. Just like many other characters within the MCU, Spider-Man has consistently reinvented his appearance across each film. Some of my suits have showcased daring designs, while others have retained the classic look with a contemporary twist.

Spider-Man: No Way Home’s Ending Introduced His Best MCU Suit Yet

Critics have long argued that the MCU’s Spidey costume was too advanced in appearance. However, with Stark’s aid, the MCU’s Peter gained abilities not typically within his reach. With Holland’s Spider-Man now back to square one in the MCU, fans were thrilled to witness him don a more earthbound suit. Despite this, his classic red and blue attire remains his most recognizable and enduring image. The return to Spidey’s original look in the MCU has sparked hopes that the “Brand New Day” storyline might follow suit as well.

Will Spider-Man: Brand New Day Feature a New Suit?

A new era, let’s call it A New Day, provides an opportunity to portray Spider-Man in a more traditional manner, given that viewers are now accustomed to seeing him coexist with other heroes within a shared universe.

Apart from wanting to observe Spider-Man functioning on a street level mirrored in his appearance, fans are also eager for this portrayal to be reflected in his costume. The suit shown at the end of “No Way Home” would align perfectly with this desire. However, it’s important to note that while characters in the MCU often change their looks, not every character is Spider-Man, whose superhero suit is one of the most iconic. Since the homemade suit was only briefly seen in “No Way Home”, it should be prominently featured in “Brand New Day” to set a new tone for the character, as the title suggests, and to mark a fresh era. Failing to do so in the sequel would be a missed opportunity.
