Spider-Man 4’s Newest Cast Member Addresses If They’re Playing A Villain In The MCU Movie

After a break, Tom Holland will return as Spider-Man in 2026, continuing his story within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As the current ‘Multiverse Saga’ wraps up, only a few movies and series are planned for the next phase, Phase 6.

Traumell Tillman recently spoke with Variety about his role in the upcoming Spider-Man movie. When asked how his new character would differ from his role in Severance, specifically if he’d be playing a villain, Tillman responded with surprise, saying, “Who says I’m playing a villain? Where did you hear that?”

When asked if he was playing a complicated character, Tillman responded that he couldn’t share many details. He did mention, however, that he was having fun working on the Spider-Man movie.

On August 20, 2025, Variety announced that Tillman had been cast in the next Spider-Man movie, Brand New Day. Details about his role in the Phase 6 film are still secret. Filming for Holland’s sequel began on August 3, 2025.

Sadie Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas are also part of the cast of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, though their roles haven’t been announced yet, much like Jason Tillman’s. Marvin Jones III will reprise his role as Tombstone, a Spider-Man villain, having previously voiced the character in the animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Sony and Marvel have been very secretive about the plot of the new Spider-Man: Brand New Day movie, particularly following the events at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Because no one remembers Peter Parker anymore, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is now completely on his own.

It’s currently unknown whether the British actor will reprise his role as Spider-Man in either Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars. While filming for Doomsday (scheduled for December 2026) is already complete, production on the final film in Phase 6 hasn’t begun yet.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to open in theaters on July 31, 2026.
