The next Spider-Man movie, currently titled Spider-Man 4 or Spider-Man: Brand New Day, is planned for release in July 2026. Destin Daniel Cretton, who directed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, will direct, and Tom Holland will return as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

During filming of Spider-Man 4 on September 19, 2025, Tom Holland received a mild concussion, causing production to temporarily halt. Thankfully, no one else was hurt.

When does Spider-Man 4 resume filming?

According to Variety, filming for Spider-Man: Brand New Day will start up again on Monday, September 29, 2025. A brief pause in production, caused by Tom Holland’s injury, won’t delay the movie’s release.

Details are limited right now, but Variety reports that Tom Holland is resting as a precaution, according to someone connected to the film’s production. Deadline adds that Holland was checked out at a hospital after possibly hitting his head during a stunt on the Pinewood Studios set, but wasn’t admitted as a patient.

Production on the movie officially began in August.

Details about the story for the next Spider-Man movie, currently titled ‘Brand New Day,’ are still secret. Alongside Tom Holland, the film will star Zendaya as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Ned, Jon Bernthal as the Punisher, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, and Michael Mando as Scorpion. Mando hasn’t played Scorpion in a Marvel Cinematic Universe film since ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ in 2017.

Trammel Tillman from Severance, Sadie Sink from Stranger Things, and Liza Colón-Zayas from The Bear have also joined the cast, though their specific roles haven’t been revealed yet.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day arrives on July 31, 2026, as part of Phase 6 of the MCU.
