Spider-Man 4 Set Photos Tease Fantastic Four, X-Men Easter Eggs

Fresh images captured on the set of what’s being called Spider-Man 4, or Spider-Man: A Fresh Start, hint at potential Marvel Cinematic Universe Easter eggs.

The latest Spider-Man film from Marvel Studios, titled “Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: A Fresh Start,” is now being made. Destin Daniel Cretton will helm the project, with Tom Holland set to return as Peter Parker/Spider-Man for another outing. Additionally, Zendaya and Jacob Batalon will rejoin the cast as Michelle “MJ” Jones-Watson and Ned Leeds respectively.

What do we see in the Spider-Man 4 set photos?

On Twitter via @Arach_07, a photo from Spider-Man 4’s set hints at The Fantastic Four connection, particularly referencing Franklin Richards, the son of Reed and Sue. The tweet subtly suggests this by mentioning that the film crew kept Glasgow’s Franklin Street sign, even though it’s supposed to be Manhattan, New York, on the map. It’s intriguing since out of all streets in New York City, they chose one named Franklin.

In my view, another intriguing snapshot I came across features a tow truck belonging to “Logan’s” – a name that resonates with fans of the X-Men, specifically Wolverine, the iconic character portrayed by none other than the talented Hugh Jackman.

As a Marvel enthusiast, I can’t help but notice the tantalizing hints of Wolverine, Franklin, and other beloved X-Men or Fantastic Four characters sprinkled throughout Spider-Man: Brand New Day. However, it’s essential to clarify that these appearances don’t necessarily guarantee their presence in the storyline; instead, they seem to be delightful Easter eggs crafted for us fans to savor.

In the upcoming movie, it has been confirmed that Mark Ruffalo’s character Bruce Banner/Hulk and Jon Bernthal’s character Frank Castle/Punisher will make an appearance. Furthermore, Michael Mando is returning to his role as Mac Gargan/Scorpion after debuting in Spider-Man: Homecoming back in 2017. Lastly, Stranger Things actress Sadie Sink and The Bear’s Liza Colón-Zayas have joined the cast for undisclosed roles.

As of now, specifics about Spider-Man 4’s storyline are being kept confidential. The film is scheduled for release on July 31, 2026. Following this, Avengers: Doomsday will hit theaters on December 18, 2026, with its sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, following suit on December 17, 2027. It’s also been announced that another Marvel Cinematic Universe movie will be released between these two films, but the exact title or plot details have yet to be disclosed.
