Spider-Man 4 Rumor: WWE Star Liv Morgan Joins Cast in Shocking Major Role Reveal
Back in 2002, it was Randy Savage who squared off with Tobey Maguire in a match of sorts within Sam Raimi’s realm. Now, over two decades later, there are whispers that another professional wrestler from the WWE could be making an appearance in the Spider-Man series.
According to Mike Johnson’s latest report from PWInsider, it appears that wrestler Liv Morgan has secured a significant acting role in a major Hollywood film. One source even described this as an “astonishing opportunity”. Interestingly, while Johnson confirmed the role isn’t for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ or any other upcoming superhero movie, another insider, Alex Perez from The Cosmic Circus, hinted that Morgan might be in negotiations with Sony and Marvel for a Spider-Man project, possibly the next film featuring Tom Holland as Spider-Man, titled ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’. Perez shared on his platform, “I’ve heard a rumor 🕷️. Still need to verify it.
Over the past week, various speculations about the cast for the upcoming movie titled “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” have surfaced, with filming set to start this summer. The only officially confirmed actor for the Marvel Cinematic Universe follow-up, aside from Tom Holland returning as Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Zendaya expected to play a small role as Michelle “MJ” Jones-Watson, is Sadie Sink from “Stranger Things”.
Who Else Has Been Rumored for Spider-Man: Brand New Day?
There’s buzz among fans that a scene in the upcoming film “Brand New Day” could potentially include the return of J. Jonah Jameson, given that he was last seen in prison at the end of 2017’s “Homecoming“. This speculation is fueled by reliable sources who claim that J.K. Simmons might reprise his role as The Daily Bugle host. Simmons has been a cherished part of Sony’s “Spider-Man” series, having played the role since Sam Raimi’s first movie in the franchise.
Although specific details about Spider-Man 4 are still under wraps, franchise producer Amy Pascal hinted in December that the events of No Way Home (2021) will involve Doctor Strange erasing everyone’s memories about Spider-Man from their minds. In an intriguing twist, Pascal suggested that the movie will revolve around Peter Parker deciding to give up being Peter Parker and focusing solely on his role as Spider-Man due to the difficulties he faced in his civilian identity. This is what the film is expected to be about, she teased.
After a major shakeup, I found myself alone and had to adapt quickly. Moving into a humble abode and crafting my own authentic Spidey suit, I stepped up as the neighborhood wall-crawler I was destined to be. Fans are keeping their fingers crossed that this new chapter, titled ‘Brand New Day’, will see me donning the comics-accurate suit for my next blockbuster escapade. This film is set to be directed by the talented Destin Daniel Cretton, who brought Shang-Chi to life on screen. Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers are back on board, having penned the scripts for all the Spidey movies within the MCU so far.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to hit theaters on July 31, 2026.
