If you ask most people today who their favorite live-action Spider-Man is, the answer will likely be Tom Holland. While a few might choose Andrew Garfield, Holland’s portrayal of Peter Parker has been so popular that he’s already started filming the first movie in a new trilogy, Spider-Man: Brand New Day. His original trilogy began with Spider-Man: Homecoming.

But a bigger question often arises: who is the best Spider-Man? Many fans immediately think of Tobey Maguire. His 2002 Spider-Man movie was a huge success, launching a new style of superhero films. It’s similar to storylines featuring their sons Richard and Ben becoming Kraven the Hunter and the new Spider-Man (as seen in the Earth-6160 and Earth-29320 universes), or their daughter May becoming Spider-Girl and her brother Benjy grappling with the Carnage and Venom symbiotes, as depicted in the MC2 Universe (Earth-982).

If Sony and Marvel ever decide to make a movie based on those storylines, it would likely be a huge hit. But until then, rewatching Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man movies – especially getting the special edition steelbook of Spider-Man 3 – is a great way to relive those classic moments.
