Spencer Pratt recalls the time his former neighbor Ryan Gosling ‘ran when he saw me’

Spencer Pratt is sharing stories about his experiences with celebrities in his new memoir, The Guy You Loved to Hate, which will be released on January 27th. The book details his time as a reality TV ‘villain’ and offers a behind-the-scenes look at his many encounters.

The LA mayoral candidate, now 42, spent ten years – from 2003 to 2013 – earning his political science degree at USC. During that time, he lived in a penthouse loft right next to Ryan Gosling, the three-time Oscar nominee, and the two were close friends, spending a lot of time together.

‘I had a crew that he was a part of,’ Pratt wrote in an excerpt obtained by Us Weekly.

‘We were a crew, and I think he learned a lot for his future roles from my posse.’

Years later, the former star of The Hills unexpectedly saw the 45-year-old Canadian at The Standard Hotel, and she claims he actually ran away from her.

Pratt went to Crossroads School in Santa Monica back in 2002, and interestingly, so did Mary-Kate Olsen, who briefly dated a friend of his, Max Winkler.

Okay, so a year went by, and this guy – a local from Southern California, can you believe it? – actually sold photos of them to a tabloid. Fifty THOUSAND dollars! He even wrote about it later, saying he was just 20 years old and basically used his friend’s heartbreak as the money to start something new. It’s… it’s just wild to me that someone could do that, but also, kind of brilliant? I’ve been following this story for years and it still blows my mind!

In a 2008 appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman, the 39-year-old actress, who began her career as a child star, shared that she wasn’t close to Chris Pratt. She explained he could be quick to anger and remembered him storming off the field during soccer matches.

A few weeks ago, while having dinner with his family, Pratt was approached by a very famous actor who also wanted to offer encouragement.

The crystals enthusiast told the magazine that people spend about twenty minutes excitedly sharing everything they know with her, really getting her enthusiastic about it all.

In her 304-page book, Pratt discusses celebrities such as David Foster, Nicole Richie, and James Franco, who is considering turning “The Guy You Loved to Hate” into a film.

The celebrity who competed on Weakest Link will be signing books at Bookends in Ridgewood, New Jersey on January 27th, and at the Barnes & Noble at The Grove in Los Angeles on January 30th.

Chris Pratt and his wife, Heidi Montag Pratt, have two sons: Gunner, who is 8 years old, and Ryker, who is 3. They’ve been married for 17 years.

Viewers were first introduced to the couple through the MTV reality show The Hills, a Laguna Beach spin-off that often faced criticism for creating drama through made-up storylines during its 2006 to 2010 run.

After two seasons that received poor reviews, the cable network canceled the show The Hills: New Beginnings in 2022.
