A popular Nordic noir crime drama has found itself a new streaming home in the UK.
The popular Swedish television show, titled “Rebecka Martinsson,” follows the story of Rebecka, a successful lawyer based in Stockholm, who is compelled to return to her small, northern hometown following the unexpected demise of her childhood friend.
Yet, it becomes apparent that her friend had met a tragic end through murder, and there appears to be a web of secrets being concealed by all involved.

The show might seem recognizable as it’s adapted from a series of novels penned by former lawyer turned writer Åsa Larsson.
The television series lasted for two seasons from 2017 to 2020, and recently, these two seasons have become available on Amazon Prime Video in the United Kingdom.

On IMDb, the television series boasts an impressive average rating of 7.1 out of 10, based on more than 3,300 user evaluations and 41 written reviews by users.
One reader commented, “It’s a delightful shift from typical American police dramas,” while another praised it as, “Exceptional acting, gripping throughout! Definitely worth watching!
As a fellow enthusiast, I can’t help but express my admiration for the captivating two-episode structure they use to present each new case. Another viewer echoes my sentiments, commending not only the exceptional acting performances but also the meticulous character development and genuine portrayal of their interactions on a deeply human level.

There seems to be a debate among viewers about which season – the first or the second – is more preferred. Actress Ida Engvoll and Sascha Zacharias take turns playing the main character, and there’s also a shift in the series’ overall mood between these two seasons.
It appears that viewers find the show captivating, since it is now ranked as the 21st most-watched series on the streaming tracking platform JustWatch.
Rebecka Martinsson is available to stream now on Prime Video in the UK.
The new edition of Living Legends is here! Buy Gaga in newsagents or online, priced at just £8.99.
