The new film Sisu: Road to Revenge, which comes out later this week, is getting rave reviews. Critics especially love its creative and exciting action sequences, and many say it’s a better follow-up to the first movie.
Jorma Tommila is back as Aatami Korpi in the sequel to the 2022 film Sisu. He’s joined by Stephen Lang, known for Avatar, and Richard Brake, famous from Game of Thrones.
It’s such a powerful story – Korpi goes back to his family home after they’ve been murdered, and instead of trying to fix it up there, he actually takes it apart piece by piece. He loads everything into a truck, planning to find a safe place where he can rebuild the house as a way to remember and honor them. It’s incredibly moving.

So, I found out the guy who destroyed my friend Korpi’s life – Igor Draganov – finally realized what he’d done. But instead of stopping, he’s actually doubling down and trying to complete whatever twisted plan he started. It’s messed up, and I need to stop him.
A cross-country chase ensues, but can Korpi evade his pursuer and honour his family?

The movie comes out this Friday in both the UK and the US. Critics have already seen it, and early reviews are overwhelmingly positive – it currently has a 96% rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 28 reviews.
Slant Magazine described much of Road to Revenge as a wildly violent, yet strangely silent, film, praising the creative and humorous action sequences where Aatami defeats numerous Red Army soldiers. Bloody Disgusting drew comparisons to the recent Mad Max films.

RogerEbert.com praised the film as “pretty special,” noting that Road to Revenge successfully builds upon the strengths of Sisu rather than simply recreating its intense action. They felt it was a strong sequel that expands on the original instead of just repeating it.
Empire described the film as intensely violent and bloody, predicting it will evoke strong reactions – from discomfort to excitement – as viewers root for the underdog. They also noted the satisfying downfall of yet another oppressive government is a pleasure to witness.
Sisu: Road to Revenge hits theaters in the UK and US this Friday. The original movie is already available to watch online – you can buy or rent it, or purchase a physical copy.
The latest issue of Living Legends is now available! You can purchase Ariana & Witches at all good newsagents or online for only £8.99.
