Spacestation Gaming drop Apex roster just days after LAN win
As a seasoned gamer with decades of Apex Legends experience under my belt, I must say that the recent roster shakeup within Spacestation Gaming leaves me both stunned and intrigued. The fact that they dropped their team just days after winning a major LAN title is nothing short of unprecedented in this game’s history.
LAN Champions on Sunday, LFT by Wednesday.
SpaceStation Gaming recently decided to let go of their Apex Legends squad a few days after emerging victorious at the ALGS Split 2 LAN. This move was prearranged by the organization due to internal problems. As per SpaceStation Gaming’s CEO, Shawn, the team had expressed the desire to either restructure or disband
It’s anticipated that Phony will depart from Koyful and Xynew to participate in the ALGS Championship, after he had initially announced (and later removed) his availability tweet
Spacestation Gaming drop Apex roster
As a dedicated follower, I can’t help but feel stunned by this recent announcement. From my point of view, it seems reasonable for the organization to take such a step, but from the perspective of Apex Legends history, this might just be one of the most jaw-dropping roster changes ever. After all, no team has ever been dropped so swiftly, barely a week after securing a major LAN title
It appears that the disagreements among the team members are due to conflicts within the three players themselves. According to reliable sources, the decision had already been made that the team would not continue together. This assumption is now supported by a statement issued today by SSG’s Unit. The root of these problems seems to trace back to a disappointing performance at EWC, where they finished in 17th place. With the rosters being finalized, there was no room for adjustments between events. It might have seemed that winning a LAN event could smooth things over, but it appears that the relationship had deteriorated beyond repair
Furthermore, it’s also mentioned that StrafingFlame might join forces with Koyful and Xynew for the ALGS Championship. Following the LAN finals, Legends Gaming officially disbanded. Afterwards, StrafingFlame made it clear he wanted to migrate to North America and compete there
At the ALGS Split 1 Playoffs in North America, it was Koyful who stepped up in place of Legends Gaming. The team delivered a solid performance, ultimately securing a fifth-place finish
Spacestation Gaming to re-enter Apex ahead of Champs
SpaceStation Gaming plans to recruit a fresh team before the ALGS Championship slated for January 2025, as announced by their CEO via a tweet
Let me discuss the recent developments concerning our Apex Legends team, which may surprise you. At the Electronic World Cup (EWC), we discovered they were experiencing internal problems and desired to either restructure or part ways
In Mannheim, the ALGS rosters were finalized, and we collectively decided that this tournament would be their last as a team. We also understood that the ALGS Championship was being postponed to 2025, and our players’ contracts with us would end at the close of 2024
In our conversation, we discussed the possibility of extending contracts with the players, yet they preferred to explore other opportunities following the major tournament. We decided to grant their release once the event was over, allowing them to join different teams
I’d like to express my gratitude to Phony, Xynew, and Koyful for setting aside their disagreements and giving it their all to secure the victory as champions. I wish them nothing but continued success in their future endeavors. If given the chance, I would have enjoyed another match with them, but such is life in competitive gaming
Regarding SSG, we haven’t wrapped up our involvement with Apex Legends yet. We are exploring possibilities for a fresh squad to compete in Worlds and the 2025 season

Fans of ALGS can now only speculate about the fate of Xynew, Koyful, and Phony during the break between events. Notably, for a team to preserve their ALGS Playoff points, they must have at least two players remain together. This suggests that Xynew and Koyful may choose to stay as a duo if they aim to compete together at the ALGS Championship
