The digital asset manufacturing platform, BreederDAO, supported by a16Z and Delphi Digital, and situated within the metaverse, undergoes a name change to Sovrun. BreederDAO won first place at Project Awakening

In June 2024, BreederDAO secured the top spot at CCP Games’ Project Awakening (now known as Eve Frontier) coding competition. The team’s efforts centered around embodying the idea of Autonomous Worlds, reinforcing Sovrun’s path. Their innovative gameplay, engaging content, and diverse game modes were key factors in their victory at this hackathon organized by one of the world’s foremost game development companies.

Hilmar V. Pétursson, CEO of CCP Games, praised BreederDAO’s triumph in the phase III hackathon for Project Awakening, saying it reflects their creative thinking and foresight. He added that their innovative submission, along with others, aids us in expanding our virtual world creation platform’s capabilities as we progress in development.

In November 2024, Sovrun organized a Game Jam hackathon, which took place during Yield Guild Games’ Play Summit in Manila, Philippines. This event aimed to gather local game developers and encourage them to create onchain games, contributing to the expansion of the game development ecosystem in the country.

Kusho World’s game, Kusho Guardians, emerged as the top contender, winning a prize and agreeing to incorporate Sovrun’s technology infrastructure. This underscores the fact that the Philippines is not just a hotspot for cryptocurrency usage, but also a breeding ground for innovative builders in this field.” Chong stated.
