Sorry, but it's a good thing Pretty Little Liars on Max got canceled after two seasons

As a gamer who has spent countless hours navigating digital worlds and unraveling complex narratives, I must admit that the cancellation of Pretty Little Liars on Max doesn’t exactly break my heart. After two seasons, it seems we’ve reached the end of this rollercoaster ride.

I don’t view it as negative, but since “Pretty Little Liars” on Max was terminated after just two seasons, according to TVLine, and they won’t be renewing for a third, that means the story of these liars comes to an end. Frankly, I think I’ve had my fill.

Look, overall Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin (season 1) and Pretty Little Liars: Summer School (season 2) did have their good moments. But for me, the bad outweighed the ones that stood out and actually made the show interesting. I liked how the first season incorporated the moms and that whole backstory. Losing that in season 2, the horror drama lost its intrigue and uniqueness for me. And just overall, the series just didn’t have the same pizzazz as the original PLL.

As a gamer, I’d put it this way: In this series, the girls were surprisingly open and honest with one another, reflecting genuine female camaraderie. However, the show’s central theme revolves around deception, as hinted by its title. Unfortunately, the twist involving Bloody Rose and Wes in Summer School left me feeling a bit let down. The anticipation of uncovering their identities was diminished due to the obvious clues, making the revelation feel less impactful.

It’s disappointing that I’m such a devoted fan of Bailee Madison, who is incredibly gifted, along with the rest of the exceptional cast members on ‘Pretty Little Liars’. However, despite my enthusiasm and their talent, the series failed to keep me engaged. Unfortunately, it appears that the streaming service Max has also decided to discontinue the show, though they haven’t provided a specific reason for its cancellation.

Previously stated, I didn’t feel that a third season of Pretty Little Liars was essential in the first place. Granted, there are some unresolved questions left hanging. However, they aren’t significant enough to make me feel like the storyline wasn’t properly concluded. It seems Archie is still alive and we can envision them all leading contented lives. Perhaps Archie departs from Rosewood and haunts someone else instead. How do you feel about the cancellation of PLL? Are you disheartened by this news?

Both seasons of Pretty Little Liars are streaming on Max.
