The program is a joint production between several countries, involving collaboration between The CW and ITV, with broadcasts scheduled in the U.S. by The CW.

Last year, during the production of the show, the head of the network’s entertainment, Brad Schwartz, showered praises on it, describing Turner’s performance as extraordinary and foreseeing it as a strong contender for various awards, deeming it an “awards-worthy” show.

Sophie Turner hasn’t just been cast in her first major ’80s-themed production; she’s actually played a significant role in an ’80s setting before, as she portrayed Jean Grey/Phoenix in the 2016 film X-Men: Apocalypse.

In 2022, Oscar Isaac, the actor portraying the main antagonist, expressed that he felt the movie could have been “more impressive,” yet he also reminisced about the experience with affection.

Joan is due to air soon on ITV, and will stream on ITVX. It will be aired on The CW in the US.
