Sophie Turner shares the reason she plans to remain in the United Kingdom permanently, having relocated to London post-divorce with her former spouse, Joe Jonas.
2023 saw the separation of the actor from “Game of Thrones,” aged 29, and the singer, aged 36. Their divorce was officially completed in September of the previous year.
In March, it was disclosed by the Mail on Sunday that Sophie had plans to relocate back to the United Kingdom with their two kids, aged four (Willa) and three (Delphine).
In an engaging chat with Flaunt Magazine, I’ve shared my perspective on why that life-changing decision significantly boosted my overall wellbeing.
She told the publication: ‘I just feel so at home here. I never want to move again.
In America, I hadn’t fully realized the importance of having close friends and family for one’s well-being until I was separated from them.
Sophie added: ‘I came back with an abundance of appreciation for them.’
Following Joe’s open discussion about the aspect of his divorce from Sophie that he found most challenging, he also offered a glimpse into his personal life during a live stream on TalkShopLive.
During the course of the performance, the artist mentioned a track titled “Only Love” from his forthcoming album, ‘Music For People Who Believe In Love.’ This album was released in May.
Jonas reminisced, “At that moment, I was seeing someone, and I had a notion about starting a new romantic journey.
‘It was truly frightening and overpowering. The concept of love can manifest in various ways, and I found myself exploring its meaning once more.’
Joe recalled that the person he was seeing, who remained unspecified, had casually mentioned to him, “Ah, it’s just affection.
I said something like, ‘Hmm, I hadn’t thought of it that way before…’ That thought inspired us to write a song. It wasn’t an earth-shattering moment for everyone else, but it struck a chord with me and them as well.
The ex-Disney star also commented, ‘It’s alright to jump into something new and give it another go, even if it means stepping out of your comfort zone.’
Jonas started dating Sophie, an actress from Game of Thrones, way back in 2016. They eventually got married in 2019.
In the year 2023, it came to light that Joe and Sophie had parted ways, and their divorce was officially concluded in September of 2024.
As a lifestyle expert, I can share that in the course of their relationship, these celebrated figures found themselves embroiled in a challenging custody dispute, centering around the residence of their precious daughters on a permanent basis. Differences arose between them regarding this significant matter.
At some point, the actress, who was born in Britain, made a report accusing her former partner of child abduction. However, she requested the court to drop the case in January of the previous year.
In earlier conversations, Turner shared with Harper’s Bazaar that their connection was remarkable but difficult.
Upon her return to England, she expressed immense joy, stating that being there felt like a resumption of her life, which had seemingly been put on hold prior to her arrival.
