Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas are officially divorced
As a long-time fan who has followed their journey since Sophie Turner graced our screens as Sansa Stark and Joe Jonas captivated us with his music, I must say this news of their divorce leaves me feeling a bit like Ned Stark at the Red Wedding – shocked and saddened. It’s hard to believe that the couple who seemed so in love and perfect for each other have decided to part ways.
Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas have finalised their divorce.
Last year, the split between the previous partners became public knowledge, as Jonas submitted divorce papers in September 2023, marking the end of their four-year union.
After a full year, it’s now official that a Miami-Dade County judge has endorsed a secret accord negotiated between the two parties (as reported by The Standard)).
According to reports, the judge declared that the marriage had reached a point from which it could not be repaired, and the arrangement they made was what was most beneficial for their family.
In May 2019, Jonas and Turner exchanged vows at a spontaneous Las Vegas wedding, followed by another ceremony in the South of France a month afterwards.
In the year 2020, they became parents for the first time, welcoming a little girl named Willa into their lives. Two years later, in 2022, they were blessed with another daughter, Delphine.
Last year, when news about their divorce went public, Turner and Jonas made a shared announcement requesting that their family be granted some privacy.
Following four blissful years together, we’ve jointly chosen to part ways in our marriage. There may be numerous theories surrounding the reasons, but this choice was made collectively, and we kindly ask for understanding as we seek privacy during this time, not only for ourselves, but also for our children.
Come late September 2023, Turner initiated a legal action concerning child custody against Jonas. They eventually reached an interim arrangement in October, with the children dividing their time equally between the two parents, as stated by Turner.
In February of this year, Turner made their relationship official with Peregrine Pearson. Later on, the star from ‘Game of Thrones’ shared that she is enjoying her dating experience. (This was reported to British Vogue.)
Contemplating her marriage with Jonas, she mused, “You know, getting married at a young age is odd. It feels as if I haven’t had the chance to experience dating. So, everything about this relationship seems fresh and unfamiliar to me.
