Sophie Raworth’s Secret Pain During VE Day Coverage REVEALED!
On Monday, Sophie Raworth confidently led the BBC’s coverage of VE Day festivities, however, what the audience didn’t realize was that she was dealing with a personal tragedy in her heart.
I hear that the presenter’s father, Richard Raworth, had died just days earlier.
‘It’s terribly sad, but Sophie was the consummate professional, as always,’ a colleague tells me.
As an ardent supporter, I find myself sharing the news of Mr. Raworth’s passing, a man of 83 years, who ended his journey here peacefully, concluding a prolonged struggle against Parkinson’s disease. This is according to a statement released by his family.
He is described as having a large heart, abundant kindness, and great determination; this man is also known for his roles as a businessman, photographer, jazz musician (particularly on the bass), and an enthusiastic gardener.
The family adds: ‘We will miss him always.’
Sophie shared in 2021 that her father, who will be turning 57 next week, has been battling Parkinson’s for quite some time. She expressed that this disease is truly dreadful. However, she admires how he handles it so admirably. Despite the challenges, he remains positive and resilient with his characteristic kindness and humor.
Towards the end of that year, she accomplished a charitable run, which I sponsored, in aid of a Parkinson’s foundation. I told my dad, ‘Thank you for your affection and encouragement. You are amazing. This race is dedicated to you.’

Currently, the presenter is a mother of three: Ella, Oliver, and Georgia, who are all accompanied by their father, real estate agent Richard Winter.
After the birth of Ella, she shared insights on how her bond with her parents, particularly her mother, Jenny, had grown stronger and deeper.
She pointed out that having kids significantly alters the dynamic between you and your parents. Now, we’re spending so much more time with them. My mom finds it hard to be away from Ella for more than just a couple of days straight.
Regarding her ‘ideal weekend’, she mentioned that she would unwind with one of her father’s signature cappuccinos, savoring its froth, as the grandparents entertain Ella.
Sophie’s younger sibling, Kate Raworth, is a well-known economist, who developed the ‘doughnut economic’ concept.
In a circle resembling a donut, a diagram illustrates the concept: The void at the center symbolizes basic human needs neglected, while the surrounding rings depict Earth’s environmental thresholds, which, if surpassed, may result in catastrophic ecological breakdown.
Some guy have all the pluck! Rod’s lad pursues film career

Sir Rod Stewart hinted that his son, Alastair, could portray a younger version of him should a movie ever be produced chronicling his lively biography.
he left his fashion design course at the JCA London Fashion Academy to aim for a career in movies instead.

King Charles has blue carpet rolled out for him

At the global debut of Sir David Attenborough’s movie, “Ocean,” in London, a royal-blue carpet was unfurled in honor of King Charles.
But he wasn’t the only member of the Royal Family there.
In this photo, Lady Amelia Windsor, aged 29, and her sister Lady Marina, who is 32 years old, collaborated to raise awareness for a movie that delves into the pressing issue of climate change.
‘It’s an extraordinarily important film,’ says Lady Marina.
Ilewelyn-Bowen’s disappointment over customers who fail to make unusual requests
Design maestro Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, known for creating unique floor designs at Buckingham Palace, expresses his disappointment when clients don’t dare to ask for unconventional ideas.
The exuberant former host of Changing Rooms remarks, “Who wouldn’t find it surprising if they heard such a statement from me?
‘Ask me to paint your house, but make it look like it’s under water or on Venus.’
60-year-old Llewelyn-Bowen states: ‘I’m similar to a Harley Street doctor. I’ll maintain an unflappable demeanor when the client requests something extraordinary, like a big elephant with a flamingo on its back, arriving on a Nimbus.’

Director of Ghostbusters flop reveals its brought back bullying memories

In its female-centric reboot, the modern adaptation of Ghostbusters unfortunately underperformed financially, with Sony Pictures potentially incurring losses of approximately £40 million.
Currently, the film’s director, Paul Feig, has shared that the unfavorable response reminded him of past experiences with bullying during his school days.
The American, age 62, expressed surprise that a group of younger males had grown up viewing it as their religion. This reminded him of his past experiences with bullying in school.
Instead of saying “You go, like: ‘I’m an adult now and I’m getting bullied by all these people’, and it kind of knocked me sideways,” you could rephrase it as follows: “He expressed that he feels like a grown-up but is being harassed by everyone around him, and this has taken him off guard.
Oldie lunch ruffles feathers!
At an unexpected event held by The Oldie magazine, a literary lunch, a disagreement broke out between aristocrat Adam Nicolson, a renowned nature writer, and fashion expert Peter York.
At London’s National Liberal Club, Nicolson shared with his companions that he had told York he had penned a book centered around “birds in the forest.” To which Peter responded casually, “Well, that sounds interesting, but I don’t take much interest in nature.
According to Nicolson, ‘Nature is in a state of devastation. The path of this destruction can be attributed to the attitudes that Mr York represents.’
