Sophie Kasaei is preparing for the arrival of her first baby, focusing on getting everything ready at home. This comes as her fiancé, Jordan Brook, is currently recovering in the hospital from meningitis.
Oh my gosh, I’ve been following Charlotte’s pregnancy so closely! It’s just amazing to see her become a mum, and she’s been so open about everything. It’s been a bit of a journey with Jordan recovering too, but she’s handling it all with such grace – honestly, she’s a total inspiration!
Jordan, 31, a cast member on the reality show TOWIE, recently shared that he’s been diagnosed with viral meningitis, which causes inflammation around the brain and spinal cord.
This is a different type of meningitis from the outbreak of bacterial meningitis B in Kent.
On Saturday, Sophie shared on Instagram that she’s preparing for her baby’s arrival by cleaning and organizing her home – she called it ‘full nesting mode’.
Sophie swept her camera across the kitchen, showing food and boxes scattered everywhere.
She announced that she’s fully preparing for the arrival of her baby, sharing that she’s been clearing out her cupboards with help from @kayking1968.
Nesting is a strong, sudden desire to clean and organize, often experienced by pregnant people as they prepare for their baby’s arrival. It typically happens late in pregnancy, around 37 weeks, as noted by the NHS.
Sophie is expecting a baby boy in mid-June, and she and her partner are hoping Jordan will fully recover before the birth.
Jordan provided an update on his condition Sunday, posting a photo from the hospital showing his injuries.
He shared a hospital update, explaining that after briefly improving on Friday, his condition has now leveled off and isn’t getting any better.
My IV lines keep coming loose – I’ve had more than 30 put in. I’m feeling very sore and bruised, and my body isn’t absorbing the antiviral medication well.
I’m completely drained and feel utterly exhausted, like I’ve been in a tough fight. I’m still experiencing a lot of pressure in my forehead.
I’m going through a tough time mentally right now. I really appreciate all the support I’ve been receiving and could use some positive energy. I’m determined to overcome this!
Earlier this month, Jordan shared that he’s lost the ability to walk because of extreme overall weakness. He stated that he still has a significant journey ahead of him in his recovery.
He wrote a heartfelt message, praying for strength and asking to be reunited with his son. He cherished a brief moment of fresh air away from his hospital room, calling his son ‘everything’ to him.
‘Still not got the strength to walk and am super weak all over my entire body.
Thanks so much for all your support, Sophie Kasaei! We’ve still got a ways to go, but we’re making progress.
I’m so thrilled to share that Jordan and Sophie are going to be parents! They’re expecting a little boy, and Sophie just announced she’s already seven months pregnant. I couldn’t be happier for them!
Sophie described the past month as incredibly difficult, sharing news about her boyfriend Jordan’s health.
Sophie shared that it was a frightening time for her family, as Jordan experienced seizures caused by the side effects of meningitis and encephalitis.
I just got home for a quick break after spending the whole day at the hospital with my sweet boy. It’s still really frightening, but every single day, Jord shows such incredible strength, and it reminds us that we’re not going to let this condition win. It’s inspiring to see him fight so hard.
‘Our baby keeps him going more than ever. He keeps us all going.’
He has both viral meningitis and encephalitis. It’s important to note this isn’t the bacterial meningitis currently in the news; this is a viral form. Right now, we’re focused on treating the encephalitis and managing its effects.
Seeing a loved one suffer from viral encephalitis or meningitis is a truly frightening experience.
It was frightening seeing him have a seizure, but I know he’s getting the best possible care. Honestly, the support has been incredible – we’re all rallying around him. And thankfully, my family is taking good care of me through all of this, which means the world.
She continued: ‘Worst month of our lives I never wish this on anyone.
I’m entering my third trimester and eagerly awaiting the day my baby comes home, so we can spend these final weeks getting ready together.
I’m just trying to stay strong right now. Life throws a lot of surprises, and going through tough times really makes you value what you have.
‘Thank you for all your messages we will get there’.
