Sophie Habboo breaks down in tears as her best friend and former Made In Chelsea co-star Melissa Tattam video calls her to reveal she’s engaged

Sophie Habboo was overcome with emotion when her best friend, Melissa Tattam, video called to share the happy news that she’s engaged to Toby Watkins.

The stars of the former reality show Made In Chelsea became close friends while filming the series. They later began co-hosting their hit podcast, Wednesdays.

Melissa, a bridesmaid at Sophie and Jamie Laing’s wedding, immediately called her friend to share the exciting news when Toby proposed.

During the conversation, it came out that Sophie was actually involved in planning the surprise. Melissa explained that Sophie had assisted Toby in designing the beautiful diamond ring.

Jamie posted a heartwarming video on Instagram showing Sophie’s emotional reaction when she received a video call from Melissa and Toby.

Melissa was amazed that Sophie was so excited – jumping and squealing with happiness – when she shared the news, exclaiming, ‘I can’t believe you figured it out!’

The mother-of-one apologises to her pal and demands: ‘Show me that rock!’

Sophie explained she needed to subtly convince her friend to get a manicure before the proposal.

Jamie shared a sweet moment with his fans, joking about Sophie’s initial reaction and expressing his love for Melissa and Toby.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve noticed people were really touched by the connection between these two women. So many viewers commented on how heartwarming it was to see their genuine reaction – it was just a beautiful moment to witness!

People commented on how adorable the moment was, expressing that having supportive and loving friends is a true gift. Many found it overwhelmingly cute and emotionally touching, highlighting the unique and powerful bond of best friends.

Toby and Melissa announced they are engaged in a loved-up social media post on Tuesday.

Toby and Melissa announced their engagement on Instagram with adorable photos of the proposal. Toby playfully shared the news with his followers, writing, ‘One less lonely girl!’

Black and white photographs show them both celebrating in their home as they embraced each other.

A time stamp on the snaps indicates Melissa and Toby got engaged on Monday, February 2.

Fans and friends, including influencer Lorna Luxe who called it “the best news,” showered the happy couple with congratulations.

Ollie Lockewood replied: ‘Ahhh guys this is so wonderful!!! Massive love and congratulations Xx.’

Sophie Habboo, a close friend and former co-star of Melissa, expressed overwhelming joy and excitement with a message of ‘My LOVES!!!!!!!!!!! Weeeeeping!!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️’

Among the replies was a comment from Melissa, who publicly declared: ‘l love you.’

Melissa and Toby dated for three years before breaking up in 2022. However, they reconnected and started dating again after a chance meeting on a trip to Bali the next year.

After leaving the show, Toby now works as a creative director at a production company. Melissa, meanwhile, hosts her podcast, ‘Wednesdays with Sophie Habboo’.

Speaking previously to her MIC co-star Sophie, she said their breakup had left her ‘heartbroken’.

Melissa explained that Toby hurt her deeply, and she compared the pain to grief. She described it like a lasting weight, referencing Jay Shetty’s analogy of a pebble in your pocket – it doesn’t disappear, but you learn to carry it with less difficulty over time.

Melissa and Harry Baron were a popular and seemingly solid couple on Made In Chelsea, and they dated for three years.

Melissa had previously accused Carrie Johnson, the wife of Boris Johnson, of sending direct messages to her boyfriend.

Okay, so you will NOT believe this! I was listening to Carrie’s podcast, Wednesdays We Drink Wine, and she casually dropped that Carrie also follows Melissa’s boyfriend, Toby Watkins, on Instagram! I’ve checked, and it’s TRUE! I’m officially losing it – the connections are just endless! It’s like everything is connected and I need to know what this means!!

Sophie Habboo, her co-host, began by sharing a rumor that Boris Johnson has so many children he’s lost count, which is why he avoids revealing how many he has.

Melissa surprised her followers by sharing that Boris Johnson’s wife had previously sent a direct message to Toby Watkins and currently follows him on social media.

Sophie couldn’t contain her laughter and quipped: ‘No you’re lying, no no you’re lying.

Melissa responded: ‘Deadly f**king serious.’

Sophie wondered what the message contained, but Melissa explained that it hadn’t been sent.
