Sony has revealed when and how much its latest gaming accessories will cost. These new products are designed for gamers who are moving away from playing on TVs and are instead focused on high-performance PC gaming. The accessories, including improved headphones and controllers, show Sony is aiming to attract serious desktop gamers. You can start pre-ordering the first batch of these accessories in early June directly from PlayStation or at certain retailers.
I’m so excited – the FlexStrike fight stick is finally coming out on August 6th! It’s a bit of a splurge at $199.99, but it looks amazing. It’s wireless with super-fast response times, but you can also use it wired if you prefer. What’s really cool is Sony made it easy to take to tournaments with a built-in battery and a custom carrying case. And the timing couldn’t be better, because it’s launching right alongside Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, the new 4v4 fighting game from PlayStation! The game looks incredible with its anime-inspired style – Arc System Works really helped them nail the visuals. It works natively on PlayStation 5, and Sony said they’re planning to add full PC compatibility soon after launch, which is awesome.
Gamers looking for a high-quality monitor now have a new option: the 27-inch PlayStation gaming monitor. It offers a sharp, detailed picture thanks to its QHD IPS panel (2560×1440 resolution). Available starting August 27th in the US and Japan for $349.99, the monitor smoothly displays games at up to 120Hz when used with a PlayStation 5. PC and Mac users can even enjoy an ultra-smooth 240Hz refresh rate. A special feature is the built-in hook on the stand, designed to conveniently charge your DualSense controller.
I’m really excited about Sony’s plans to complete their desktop setup with the Pulse Elevate wireless speakers later this year! From what I understand, these speakers will use the same awesome audio tech as the Pulse Explore and Pulse Elite headsets. Basically, Sony’s trying to give us that super high-quality, immersive sound without needing headphones – perfect for those long gaming sessions when wearing a headset gets uncomfortable. They haven’t announced prices or pre-order info yet, but I’m keeping an eye out for more details in the next few months.
