Sony Pictures names Keith Le Goy as new television chair
The newly appointed head of Sony Pictures Entertainment, Ravi Ahuja, is swiftly assembling his executive team.
On Tuesday, a studio based in Culver City appointed Keith Le Goy as chairman of Sony Pictures Television. His responsibilities include managing both domestic and international productions for the company, which encompasses Sony’s game show division behind “Jeopardy!”, “Wheel of Fortune”, and the Game Show Network.
The studio in Culver City chose Keith Le Goy to be the boss of Sony Pictures Television on Tuesday. His job is to look after all shows produced in America and other countries, including game shows like “Jeopardy!”, “Wheel of Fortune”, and the Game Show Network.
In a recent development, it’s been announced that Sony Pictures Entertainment’s current leader, Ahuja, who ascended to the position earlier this month following the retirement of Tony Vinciquerra, will be succeeded by Le Goy. Since then, Ahuja has been focusing on building his reputation and structuring his executive team.
In Keith’s case, he demonstrates strategic thinking and a focus on growth, coupled with an exceptionally keen intellect, according to Ahuja’s statement. Moreover, having collaborated extensively with him in our television business, I can attest to his exceptional teamwork skills. I am eager to continue working together in this new role.

Swapping the role of ‘Wheel of Fortune’ host isn’t straightforward, yet viewership has increased following Pat Sajak’s exit.
Le Goy currently oversees both the television and home entertainment distribution and marketing divisions within the studio.
He played a significant role in crucial sales, including the syndication of “Seinfeld” and distribution agreements with Netflix and Disney for films. Additionally, he manages Sony’s cable networks across Latin America and Europe. Last year, Sony attributed much of Sony Pictures’ success in digital home entertainment to his leadership, resulting in record-breaking revenue for both movies and a renewed focus on local language productions in Latin America.
Additionally, Le Goy was at the helm during the unveiling of Sony’s automotive entertainment service, Ridevu, as well as an entertainment application designed for PlayStation gaming systems.

Reflecting on my journey as a steward of the cinematic realm at Sony Pictures’ Culver City studio, I stand by my decisions to greenlight projects like “Madame Web” and “Kraven the Hunter.” Contrary to any rumors or misconceptions, these are not films that should be dismissed as subpar.
In the past, I held the position of Distribution Head at Sony Pictures Television. I joined Sony in 1999, having previously served as Vice President of European Sales for The Walt Disney Company.
For the past eight years, this studio has significantly expanded its role as an independent provider to streaming platforms and television networks. Its diverse portfolio includes shows like “The Boys” on Amazon Prime Video, “Cobra Kai” on Netflix, “The Last of Us” on HBO, “S.W.A.T.” on CBS, “Outlander” on Starz, “Shark Tank” on ABC, and “90-Day Fiancé” on TLC.
Le Goy expressed gratitude for being given control of the television group during a time of significant change within the industry. He acknowledged Ravi and the outstanding teams who have placed SPT in an advantageous position to lead and expand on our established history. Le Goy is excited about the chances that lie ahead as we adapt to this shifting and vibrant market.
On January 2nd, Ahuja assumed the roles of studio president and CEO. He is supervised by Sony Group Corp.’s Chairman and CEO, Kenichiro Yoshida, as well as Hiroki Totoki, who holds the positions of president and COO at the Japanese electronics company.
