Paramount Pictures reports that the Sonic the Hedgehog film series has surpassed a total worldwide earnings of $1 billion, with the third installment, which debuted in theaters on December 20th, earning approximately $336.3 million so far.
Oh, wow! It’s mind-blowing that the Sonic the Hedgehog film series has rocketed past $1 billion at the global box office! A huge thank you to the most fantastic fans in the world – you all make this journey unforgettable! 🌟🐘🚀 #SonicMovieFans
2020 marked the beginning of the movie franchise for Sonic the Hedgehog, raking in an impressive global box office collection of $320 million. Subsequently, the sequel was released in April 2022, amassing a staggering $405.4 million globally and setting new records with the biggest opening weekend for a movie based on a video game. In sum, the Sonic movies have accumulated over $1.037 billion in total earnings.
As a gaming enthusiast, I can confirm that Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 have amassed over $181 million through digital rentals and sales. Given this staggering success, it’s no wonder Paramount gave the green light to Sonic the Hedgehog 4 for a 2027 release. Plus, Jim Carrey has hinted at reprising his role as Doctor Robotnik, which is fantastic news!
Hooray! The Sonic the Hedgehog movie series has blasted past the $1 billion mark at worldwide box offices! A big thank you to the most fantastic fans out there 💖💜❤️🖤.
