As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for the Sega Genesis era and its iconic mascot Sonic the Hedgehog, I must say that the anticipation for this movie has been palpable. With my fingers crossed, I eagerly await the release of Sonic the Hedgehog 3, especially after hearing the rave reviews it’s received so far!

The third installment of Sonic the Hedgehog, namely Sonic the Hedgehog 3, has broken records in the cherished series by earning an impressive rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

On December 20th, theaters across the U.S. will screen the third movie based on the iconic video game franchise, while viewers in the UK can catch it a day after, on December 21st.

Known as “the top pick” in early critiques, Sonic 3 pits the starring hedgehog, voiced by Ben Schwartz, against Knuckles (Idris Elba), and Tails (Colleen O’Shaughnessey). They find themselves battling Shadow (Keanu Reeves), which leads them to reluctantly ally with their longtime foe Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) in the course of events.

Prior to its premiere, the movie has received a 85% score on Rotten Tomatoes, the highest in the franchise up to this point.

In contrast, the initial Sonic movie scores 64% on the review site, whereas Sonic the Hedgehog 2 receives a slightly better rating of 69%.

The general agreement among critics for Sonic 3 is: “Boasting not just one but two doses of Jim Carrey’s humor and a speed that matches its title character, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 stands out as the finest installment in this delightful series so far.

Initial critiques on the upcoming movie are out, published prior to its debut. Many critics are praising it as the top-notch installment in the series and applauding Jim Carrey for his reprisal of the character Dr. Robotnik.
