Sonia Kruger reveals her VERY surprising nickname that reveals her true personality off screen: ‘What you see on TV is generally the opposite’
As a lifestyle expert with decades of experience under my belt, I find Sonia Kruger‘s story both intriguing and relatable. On one hand, she presents herself as a goody two shoes on television, following rules and maintaining order – much like Dudley Do-Right, her unusual nickname suggests. Yet, off-screen, she revels in breaking the very same rules that define her on-screen persona. This dichotomy is not only fascinating but also a testament to the fact that we all have our quirks and secret rebellious sides.

The television host is often seen as overly virtuous, but in an interview with Stellar Magazine this week, she admitted that her on-screen persona may be quite different from her true self off camera.
‘My nickname is Dudley. Dudley Do-Right, to be precise’ the 58-year-old explained.
In case you’re unaware, I’m absolutely smitten by this character named Dudley Do-Right – a jovial, ever-obedient Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer that graced our screens in the 60s cartoons! He’s earned quite a reputation for his compulsive adherence to rules.
Living a life of integrity and honesty has always been my guiding principle. I’ve never shied away from doing what’s right, even when it wasn’t popular or easy. People often joke about me being too upright, but in all sincerity, it’s just who I am. Growing up, I was the kid who always followed the rules and made sure my friends did too. I guess you could say I was the “Dudley” of my group, the one who kept everyone on the straight and narrow. And while it might not be the most exciting life, I wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s a choice I’ve made, and it’s shaped the person I am today.
In her school days, Sonia took on the role of being the sensible one in any given situation, a duty she has continued to carry through.
She said, “You might find this surprising given what you usually see on TV, as it often portrays the opposite – if there’s a rule to be broken, I won’t think twice – but remember, television isn’t an accurate representation of real life. In that sense, in everyday life, I’m just Dudley.”
Last week, Sonia was hiding a million-dollar secret as she arrived on the carpet at the 64th TV Week Logie Awards.
The television host exuded a dreamlike quality, her tulle sleeves trailing gracefully on the floor, mirroring the length of her train.
Meanwhile, as everyone was captivated by the stunning dress, they often overlooked the exquisite custom jewelry valued at a staggering $997,000 adorning her figure instead.
I gleamed radiance, adorning exquisite pieces crafted by the esteemed Australian family jeweler, Jan Logan, tailored uniquely for this special event.
Among all the items, the priciest one was a stunning 6.09 carat diamond ring featuring a dual-stone layout, valued at a hefty $230,000. On the other hand, the least expensive item was a captivating 3.16 carat diamond earring, costing a more affordable $9,500.
Among the premium add-ons were a round and an emerald-cut diamond bracelet, priced at $145,000, as well as a 13-carat diamond bracelet, valued at $110,000.
The designs were made for Sonia in the Jan Logan in the Double Bay workshop by a local team of artisanal craftsmen.
Angus Logan, the Managing Director of Jan Logan, shared insights with FEMAIL on the process of creating and selecting their pieces.
He stated that we collaborated intimately with Sonia Kruger and stylist Natalia De Martin to realize their overall concept for her Logies final appearance outfit. Each item was custom-made for Sonia in our Double Bay workshop by our skilled local artisans, who were part of our team.
The project focused on designing striking, standout pieces that feature numerous diamonds. This was achieved by layering various items and blending an array of distinct diamond shapes including emerald, pearl, princess, marquise, round, and cushion cuts.
Sonia paired the look with a nude lip, soft waves and maroon nails.
When asked about her favorite piece, stylist Natalia De Martin replied that Sonia loved the entire collection.
Natalia shared with FEMAIL, “She was completely amazed. The diamonds, so heavenly and brilliantly radiant, were simply stunning. If I had to choose, I’d say those intricately designed multi-gemstone pieces were her preferred ones.”
