Sonia Kruger lists luxe five-bedroom, four-bathroom home for a whopping $18.5m following extensive renovation
As an ardent fan of Sonia Kruger and her enchanting journey through life, I find myself utterly captivated by this latest chapter unfolding before my eyes. The grandeur of her luxurious abode, a beachside marvel nestled in the heart of Mosman, is nothing short of breathtaking. From its humble beginnings as a $6.5 million acquisition in 2015 to the magnificent $18.5 million gem it has become today, Sonia’s home stands as a testament to her indomitable spirit and relentless pursuit of excellence.
Sonia Kruger has listed her luxury mansion for a whopping $18.5million.
In 2015, I, along with my TV executive partner Craig McPherson, proudly acquired a breathtaking beachside property in the enchanting neighborhood of Mosman for a cool $6.5 million.
Ever since we made the purchase, my partner and I have been diligently working on transforming our newly acquired five-bedroom, four-bathroom property into a stunning home. Now, with all the renovations complete, we find ourselves listing the house at a price nearly three times what we initially paid for it.
2020 saw an interruption in the renovation process due to the coronavirus pandemic. During this time, significant exterior refinishing and a full reconstruction of the third floor were planned.
The third floor now boasts a wrap around balcony, outdoor kitchen, dining table and lounge area.
As a devoted admirer, I’d share that initially, the uppermost tier showcased two enchanting outdoor terraces and a breathtaking cathedral-like roof interior. Regrettably, these were demolished to construct the contemporary open-air area they now enjoy.
The house features a porch along with an extra dining area and seating space on the ground-level balcony that extends outside. This area seamlessly connects to a beautifully kept garden belonging to the family below.
This luxurious residence boasts features such as a breathtaking infinity pool with a water’s edge, a personal studio, an interior elevator, and private lodgings for guests.
Some additional features worth mentioning are a spacious kitchen made from limestone, equipped with high-end Miele induction cooktop appliances, as well as adaptable areas suitable for setting up a fitness center or home theater.
The home also boasts views of Balmoral Beach, a triple garage, and a wine cellar.
But the extensive renovation was not without its troubles for Sonia and partner Craig.
Back in May 2020, Craig shared with The Daily Telegraph that he now regrets initiating the renovation project, but by then, it had already progressed too far to turn back.
If the coronavirus outbreak had occurred prior to our decision, we definitely wouldn’t have proceeded with it. This seems to be one of the least favorable periods to engage in activities like this.
‘But we started the process six months ago and it’s too late to go back.’
It was previously estimated that the huge renovation cost the couple $1million.
