Someone’s not bothered! Kyle and Jackie O star films himself joyously committing a gross act in elevator ahead of possible unemployment

Despite concerns that many staff members could lose their jobs as the Kyle & Jackie O breakfast show ends, producer Pete Deppeler – known as ‘Intern’ Pete – seems to be handling the news well.

ARN confirmed today that Jackie’s $100 million contract is over. This decision came after she informed management she could no longer work with Kyle Sandilands, following his on-air remarks that upset her deeply.

Kyle has been suspended with 14 days to fix the issue, or he will be fired. Jackie, meanwhile, has been offered the chance to host a different show on the network.

On Wednesday, a longtime employee of KIIS FM posted a funny video compilation showing him playfully farting in an elevator on several occasions over the past year.

‘Filmed myself farting every day for a few months,’ he wrote next to the footage.

Lots of Pete’s famous friends commented on his post, complimenting his unique way of handling the show’s finale.

It really warmed my heart to see Laura Byrne, a colleague at KIIS FM, post that message right after ARN made such a huge announcement. It felt so supportive and showed how much everyone was buzzing about it!

‘This is the good news story we all need,’ added Amy Gerard, another KIIS FM employee.

People working on The Kyle & Jackie O Show were surprised and upset Tuesday night to learn that the show, along with many others across Australia, was being cancelled.

KIIS FM’s owner, ARN, revealed on Tuesday night that Kyle Henderson’s $100 million contract had been cancelled, sharing the news through the ASX (Australia’s stock exchange).

Sources at KJO radio say employees are worried about their jobs as the station faces financial difficulties. Staff are discussing the situation in group chats, with some feeling trapped because they don’t see other opportunities within the company as ARN, its parent company, cuts costs due to declining revenue.

Workers were surprised and upset by the sudden end of the show this week. The collapse followed a disagreement between Kyle and Jackie on February 20th regarding Jackie’s interest in astrology. The argument led to Jackie leaving the studio in tears and ultimately deciding to leave the show.

The team that makes the radio show is worried they’ll lose their jobs, as there are no other openings at ARN where they can be moved.

Some roles simply do not exist outside of The Kyle and Jackie O Show.

Consider the show’s censor – they were kept busy during Sydney breakfast radio, especially with the potential oversight from media regulator ACMA. However, their skills wouldn’t really fit into any other part of KIIS FM’s lineup.

Many people are likely hoping that producer Jaimee Blazquez, known as ‘Mayo,’ receives support while she’s on maternity leave, especially since she just had her second child last week.

Employees who left the company a while back are probably feeling relieved they predicted the problems between Kyle and Jackie would eventually lead to a breakup.

Over the past year and two months, several important people left the show. Some lost their jobs as part of cutbacks, while others resigned because they anticipated the show wouldn’t succeed after its disappointing performance in Melbourne.

Honestly, when I saw them leave, it was pretty clear to me their eight-year contracts weren’t going to be fulfilled. It was a major red flag that things weren’t sustainable for them as a pair. I’ve seen this pattern before – early exits often foreshadow a longer-term incompatibility.

Tony Aldridge, who led content creation for KIIS 106.5 and oversaw the unsuccessful attempt to expand KJO into Melbourne, left ARN in May 2025 after working there for seven years.

Pedro Cuccovillo Vitola started with the show in 2016 after winning a ‘World’s Best Job’ contest. He left in late 2024, following a promotion to executive producer a year earlier, because the demands of the job were impacting his personal life.

He’s now in business with another KJO alum, video producer Josh Fox.

Also leaving that year were audio producer Thomas Martin and censor Nikita McGoram, though their departures didn’t receive much media attention. This changed when Duncan Campbell, ARN’s head of content, left as part of a company restructuring.

Duncan Campbell, often called DC, was the driving force behind bringing Kyle and Jackie O to KIIS FM in 2013. However, his departure in early 2025 led to many staff leaving, as it became clear the station wouldn’t be launching a national breakfast show as planned.

By now, the radio hosts were failing to attract listeners in Melbourne, only managing a five percent share of the audience. This was a significant drop compared to their strong performance in Sydney, where they dominated with twelve percent of listeners.

Lachlan Mansell, a studio producer, left in June 2025, followed by Mel Maltby and Megan Hui, both from the promotions team, who departed in July.

Kirsten Ploog, who booked guests for the station, and digital producer Ella Kanna both lost their jobs as part of a company restructuring.

Producer Louise Senteleky, known as ‘Schoolteacher Lou,’ recently left the organization, following the departure of Cooper Johns, a former NRL player who became a sports presenter, just a few months earlier.

During this period, ARN also eliminated positions in finance, sales support, and technology. This was part of a shift to outsource these functions to TCS, a global IT and business solutions company based in Mumbai, India.
