It’s competing against other popular animated shows like Marvel’s Marvel Zombies and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld from Lucasfilm, Predator: Killer of Killers from Hulu and 20th Century Fox, and Harley Quinn and Creature Commandos from Warner Bros. Television and DC Studios.
Solo Leveling Achieves Major Milestone With New Anime Award Nomination
Solo Leveling started as a popular web novel by Chugong in 2016, quickly becoming a hit in the fantasy genre. The story follows Jinwoo, a hunter who is usually weak but incredibly determined. After a mysterious program called ‘The System’ gives Jinwoo the chance to grow stronger, he begins to uncover a huge conspiracy that threatens everything he knows.
The first season of the Solo Leveling anime, created by studio A-1 Pictures, launched in 2024 and received very positive feedback from both critics and viewers. Currently, Solo Leveling Season 1 has a 100% ‘Fresh’ rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, and audiences have given it a 79% score (‘Popcornmeter’) based on over 250 reviews.
The latest season, which launched in January 2025, has been a hit with both critics and audiences. It received a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and an impressive 80% audience approval score, based on over 100 user reviews – even higher than the first season.
Solo Leveling: Karma & New Netflix Series May Tide Over Fans Until Next Anime Release
Fans are excited about the future of the series, with many hoping for either a third season of the popular anime or a new movie. While there’s been no official word on whether a Season 3 or a film is in development, some fans think they’ve gotten a sneak peek at what’s coming next thanks to a recent trailer.
Fans of the popular series Solo Leveling are excitedly awaiting the upcoming live-action adaptation on Netflix. The show will star Kang You Seok, Byeon Woo-seok as Sung Jinwoo, and Han So-hee as Cha Hae-in. It’s set to be directed by Lee Hae-jun and Kim Byung-seo, who also directed films like Ashfall, Like a Virgin, Castaway on the Moon, My Dictator, and Cold Eyes. The series is currently scheduled for release in November 2025.
