Reviewers at JoBlo’s Movie Network called The Night Agent a “solid binge-watch,” and the show is coming back for another season. Star Gabriel Basso hints that his character will be facing many challenges in the new episodes.

The reason is clear from the trailer: it shows Peter saving a man—played by Suraj Sharma—who is being pursued during a football game.

Peter told the man, “Just do as I say, and we can escape safely.” They then drove off in a car, with two criminals chasing after them.

The Night Agent follows a White House staffer caught in a high-stakes conspiracy. He teams up with a determined reporter, while also trying to help a man accused of murder prove his innocence. Meanwhile, a dangerous father-son duo is leaving a trail of victims, and old allies are threatened by both familiar and new enemies. His new partner might be the key to solving the case—or the reason he fails.

The preview also shows Stephen Moyer, known for his role in The Forsytes, who will appear in the third season of The Night Agent. In a scene, his character questions Peter, asking “Who are you?” Peter responds simply, “I’m a night agent.”

Shawn Ryan, the showrunner, shared his thoughts on the addition of Génesis Rodríguez and David Lyons to the cast for season 3.

According to Ryan, as Peter faces new characters and obstacles, he’ll also have to deal with difficult realities and understand how his work as a Night Agent has affected him—both positively and negatively.

The initial photos reveal Amanda Warren returning as Catherine Weaver, Peter’s handler, alongside Fola Evans-Akingbola as Chelsea Arrington, and Albert Jones as Deputy FBI Director Aiden Mosley.
