Sofia Vergara, 52, says she got a ‘bionic’ knee thanks to ‘old age and s***’ adding peri-menopause is causing her to forget things

Sofia Vergara playfully jokes about aging, as her appearance suggests she’s in her mid-40s, yet she’s truly 52 years old and has been Emmy-nominated for her role as Griselda.
The Hollywood siren from Colombia told Variety on Wednesday that she feels the pains of age.
The mother-of-one said she had to get a new bionic knee three months ago due to ‘old age and s***.’
During the same interview, the long-time star of Modern Family mentioned that she’s recently been experiencing memory lapses.
The brunette beauty confided in the website, saying she was experiencing pre-menopause symptoms and was struggling to recall where she put her glasses.
Vergara stated that she currently finds the pressures of work more intense. During her time on Modern Family in her late 30s and early 40s, she found it simpler to handle everything.
But on Griselda – when she was in her 50s – she found it more difficult.
Sofia jokingly remarked to Variety that since she can’t even remember where she left her glasses, how is she supposed to memorize her lines for Griselda? ‘Now I have to learn all these monologues?’ she grumbled while on the set of the popular Netflix series.
All the hard work has paid off, though.
Griselda spent six consecutive weeks in Netflix’s Top 10 after being released in January.

He clarified to the news outlet that the rumors about him desiring a family are unfounded, stating instead: “For the past year and a half, we’ve made an effort to start a family.”
As a devoted admirer, let me share that during the initial phase of our relationship, I had an extensive discussion with my partner about children. I openly expressed, “If you’ve decided against having kids, I can comprehend. Just communicate your feelings, and I’ll grasp the nature of our bond, and that’s acceptable. However, it turned out she hadn’t made up her mind about it yet.”
“I promised her that I wouldn’t depart under any circumstances, unless things didn’t go as planned. As it turned out, I kept my word,” Manganiello affirmed.
Although he aspires to establish a family at some point, it’s important to clarify that disagreements about having kids were not the only reason for their separation.
‘It’s because two people grew apart, and sometimes that happens,’ he explained.
Later, Manganiello clarified his feelings about Vergara’s earlier statements suggesting that their marriage ended due to her husband being younger and desiring children. He voiced his annoyance regarding these reasons.
In simpler terms, Pittsburgh said, “To portray me as if I underwent a midlife crisis after nine years and demanded someone to do something risky to their health, or leave, is not who I truly am.”
In January 2024, Vergara confided in Spanish newspaper El País that their relationship had ended due to a difference in desires regarding having children; while Manganiello wished for them, Vergara did not.
She expressed that she didn’t prefer becoming a mother at an older age, as she felt it wouldn’t be fair to the child. While she admires those who choose it, it’s no longer something she desires for herself.
She went on to say: ‘At 19, I became a mom and now my son is 32 years old. I find myself eager to become a grandma rather than a mom again. If affection arises, it should be accompanied by his own offspring.’
