Lisa’s mother Shirley was diagnosed with terminal cervical cancer in 2020.

In 2021, she disclosed that she was fervently hoping for her cherished mother’s recovery, and resolutely stated that the tragic illness would not triumph.

South London native Lisa, captioned the image: ‘Praying for my mumma today, cancer will not win!’

Apart from posting a stylish photo of herself sporting a long wig, Lisa additionally penned down these words: ‘It’s alright to experience ups and downs.’

In October, the celebrity poignantly shared her heartache due to her mother’s illness struggle and her own anxious anticipation for test findings to confirm whether her unusual cells indicated cancer.

In an interview, Lisa sobbed as she told how she’s had to watch the cancer ‘tear my mum’s body apart’, amid Shirley’s declining health.

Addressing The Sun Online, the vocalist emphasized the importance of undergoing a cervical smear test following her discovery of abnormal cells within her cervix in March, which led to a subsequent colposcopy examination.

She wept while sharing that Shirley, due to feelings of pride and embarrassment, had neglected her cervical screenings for a span of five long years.

Her mother’s cervical cancer has spread throughout her body and is now terminal.

Sharing insights about her mother’s situation, Lisa explained, ‘My mom tends to be modest and sensitive, and feels uncomfortable easily. Visiting the doctor for a Pap test made her feel exposed, so she delayed it.’

Due to how rapidly cancer can spread, it often took her a leg pain and persistent bleeding, which finally prompted her to see a doctor – unfortunately, this diagnosis came two years past the optimal treatment window.

Lisa explained that Shirley’s lymph nodes and collarbone were affected by the spread of cancer. Her battle against cancer required extensive treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation therapy, which ultimately led to the loss of one of her kidneys.

For the past seven years, her mother had been in a state of cancer remission; however, unfortunately, the disease has spread throughout her body once more.

She has been informed that no more treatments are possible for her, and she is currently coping with advanced cancer that cannot be cured.

Lisa stated, ‘I’ve seen it shred her mother’s body due to agony, merely because she overlooked a quick five-minute test. Yet, it could potentially save your life.’

The artist known for her hits everywhere wants to make sure that her daughter Chelsea, who’s 24 years old, receives a private smear test before the NHS offers one at age 25. She’s committed to ensuring this.

After posting on Instagram to clarify that she doesn’t have cervical cancer, following an unclear statement, the situation subsequently unfolded.

Earlier in October, I took to Instagram Stories to share some personal news – I’ve recently been diagnosed with a certain illness.

Initially, she posted something incorrectly, not realizing it. However, upon discovering her mistake, she found out she had abnormal cells, which, if neglected, could potentially lead to cancer. So, she had to correct the post afterwards.
