Netflix UK has added the four-episode police drama Blindspot, which originally aired on Channel 5 in 2023. Surprisingly, it’s currently the third most popular show on the platform, even though viewers who saw it when it first came out didn’t think it was very good.
I’m hooked on this new show! It’s about a woman who sees something awful happen in her neighborhood and decides to investigate it herself. It quickly becomes clear she’s way out of her depth, and her little investigation is putting her in serious danger. It’s a real nail-biter!
This project marks a departure for Ross Kemp, known for his work on EastEnders and documentaries. Notably, the lead actress, Beth Alsbury, is a wheelchair user, which is a welcome and infrequent representation in media.

Unfortunately, there’s not much else that can be positively said about the show.

The movie has a low rating on IMDb – just 4.6 out of 10 – based on over 650 user reviews. Many viewers strongly advise others to avoid it, with several writing detailed reviews explaining why.
One viewer described the plot as completely absurd and full of plot holes, while another criticized the acting, comparing it to a school drama performance.
One viewer expressed disbelief that Channel 5 would both fund and then broadcast this program, after seeing the final result.
Another review mentioned that viewers figured out who the killer was pretty quickly, and felt it was frustrating that the detectives on the show took so long to reach the same conclusion.

Some viewers actually enjoyed the series because of how bad it was, even admitting they were “addicted” to its terribleness. One review perfectly captured this sentiment.
Honestly, most people agree the show just didn’t look great – you could tell it didn’t have a big budget. And the story? It felt super predictable and didn’t really make a lot of sense. It was like they just threw a bunch of tired tropes together.
Blindspot can be streamed now on Netflix or on 5’s own streaming service.
The latest issue of Living Legends is now available! You can purchase Ariana & Witches at all good newsagents or online for only £8.99.
