Oh my gosh, you guys, Rachel Zegler just shared the most amazing advice Helen Mirren gave her! Apparently, when Rachel was really struggling with everything in Hollywood, Helen stepped in and gave her some seriously life-changing wisdom. I’m absolutely living for this – two amazing actresses supporting each other! It just proves Helen Mirren is a queen, and I need to know everything she said!
The 24-year-old actress is currently performing in EVITA in London’s West End. This comes after her recent live-action Snow White film, a Disney remake, wasn’t successful in theaters.
Rachel recently shared that a conversation with Helen served as a turning point for her. This happened while they were celebrating Helen’s 76th birthday at Liu, a sushi restaurant in Atlanta, during filming for the 2023 movie Shazam! Fury of the Gods.
In an interview with Glamour, where she was named 2025 Woman of the Year, she remembered Helen sharing advice about dealing with early fame.
You know, I was chatting with a friend the other day, and she shared something really relatable. She confessed that when she was in her twenties, she’d have given anything to be in my position. She was struggling just to get by, working incredibly hard in theatre, and barely making ends meet. It really put things into perspective for me, and reminded me how far I’ve come!
‘I don’t often feel the need for a wake-up call, but a reminder is really, really important.’
She explained that it’s important for young people who achieve success to remember things could easily have turned out differently.
Rachel became well-known at 17 years old after playing Maria in Steven Spielberg’s 2021 movie version of West Side Story.
After gaining recognition in West Side Story, she landed prominent roles in several major films, including Shazam! Fury of the Gods, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, and Disney’s live-action Snow White.
She’s currently playing the lead role in the musical Evita, with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice. The show tells the story of Eva Perón and her journey through Argentine politics.
It comes after Rachel took to Instagram to commemorate a career bounceback with Evita.
The singer shared a series of black-and-white photos with her 2.5 million followers, celebrating the final performance of the Evita revival in London’s West End.
The New Jersey native wrote in the caption that they never expected to be involved in something so widely recognized during their life.
Rachel said playing the title role in the musical was akin to a dream come true.
She described the project as an incredible opportunity, highlighting the amazing director, choreographer, cast, and crew – truly a dream team!
The award-winning actress revealed she’s formed close friendships with people she’s working with on the musical in England.
Rachel shared that the friendships she’s formed during this experience will last a lifetime, and the summer memories they’ve created are so powerful they make her emotional even when taking her final bows.
The actress thanked everyone who came to see her perform at the London Palladium during the show’s short run.
She expressed her gratitude, saying, “Whether you were among the 220,000 people who attended our events at the Palladium over the last 12 weeks, or one of the more than 130,000 who gathered on the balcony each day, thank you for your support.”
Rachel expressed her gratitude to the play’s director, Jamie Lloyd, saying ‘Thank you for everything,’ and playfully added, ‘I’m not going anywhere!’
This follows photos of Rachel appearing affectionate with her boyfriend, Nathan Fernand, during a rainy walk in London last August.
The actress and her new dance partner, age 27, were seen walking arm-in-arm through the city streets.
Oh my gosh, she looked absolutely incredible! For her latest appearance, Snow White—I mean, the actress—went with this effortlessly cool look: a simple charcoal grey top and jeans. It was so her, and honestly, she could wear anything and still be stunning, but this was perfect. I just can’t stop thinking about it!
Meanwhile, Nathan donned a green top with blue baggy jeans and a black Yankees cap.
People think the couple first met while rehearsing for Evita. These rehearsals started in April for Jamie Lloyd’s new version of the famous Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber musical.
For the last year, Nathan has been performing as a stripper in Magic Mike Live, a show developed by Channing Tatum and inspired by his popular movies of the same name.
The 90-minute show features male dancers performing energetic and suggestive routines, along with acrobatic stunts, all set to popular music, and is designed to appeal to women’s fantasies.
