Snoop Dogg to blaze it up in Paris as a torchbearer for 2024 Olympics: ‘Gots to do it’

As a huge fan of Snoop Dogg and the Olympics, I’m absolutely thrilled to hear about his involvement in the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics! His announcement as an Olympic torchbearer and special correspondent for NBC is a perfect blend of music, sports, and global recognition.

Rap legend and entrepreneur Snoop Dogg has been named as the latest Olympic torchbearer. This esteemed role adds another impressive title to his list of achievements.

Snoop Dogg, the renowned 52-year-old artist known for his hit “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” has been confirmed as one of the torchbearers in the lead up to the 2024 Olympic Games opening ceremony in Paris. This announcement was made by Mayor Mathieu Hanotin of Saint-Denis on Monday via social media platform X. Saint-Denis, a Paris suburb located north of the city, will be the site where Snoop Dogg carries the flame before it reaches its final destination at the iconic Eiffel Tower. The Stade de France in Saint-Denis is set to host rugby and track and field events during the Olympics, as per the official Olympics website.

Snoop Dogg made it official on Instagram with a post that read, “You have to do it!” On Monday, he had previously posted pictures of himself in Paris.

“U ready? Paris 2024 Olympics ya digg,” he captioned one post.

At the Olympics, besides carrying his torch of dedication, Snoop Dogg, famously known as “Gin and Juice” rapper, has been appointed as a special correspondent by NBC. As per NBC Sports, his role includes discovering the city’s well-known attractions, witnessing Olympic competitions and functions, and meeting with athletes, their companions, and families.

The rapper, who grew up watching the Olympics, expressed his excitement for the Paris Games in a December 2023 statement. He’s looking forward to witnessing the exceptional athletes give their best performances. It’s a time for showcasing talent, commitment, and striving for excellence. With his unique style, he’ll be adding to the excitement. Get ready for some incredible competitions, as the Olympics will reach new heights. Stay tuned, keep it locked, let’s make these games unforgettable, outshine the competition, and let the best athletes shine bright like gold.

Snoop Dogg won’t be the only big name gracing the 2024 Olympics. According to Variety, Celine Dion is planned to return to live performances despite her ongoing struggle with stiff-person syndrome. However, her representative has yet to confirm this report to The Times.

The opening ceremony for the Paris Olympics begins at 10:30 a.m. according to Pacific Daylight Time on Friday, and it will be broadcast live on NBC and Peacock. The Games are set to conclude on August 11th.
