Snoop Dogg sparks outrage with controversial comments on LGBTQ representation

Snoop Dogg recently shared that he experiences discomfort when it comes to bringing his grandson to the cinema, as he was unexpectedly confronted with same-sex relationships depicted in the 2022 Disney animated movie “Lightyear.

During his interview on the It’s Giving podcast, the 53-year-old rapper shared an incident where a supposedly fun family event turned out to be a moment that left him searching for responses.

Speaking from my perspective as a lifestyle guru, I’d articulate it this way: “As a creator who’s known for hits like Drop It Like It’s Hot, I simply mean that authenticity is key. And that genuine essence? You’ll find it in every corner of my work.

Later, he found himself explaining during the viewing of the Pixar offshoot, as his grandchild became perplexed about the character Alisha Hawthorne, who is depicted as having a spouse and a child.

‘She gave birth to a child with another woman,’ Snoop explained,” his grandson questioned during a movie, ” ‘But Papa Snoop, how can she have a baby with a woman? She’s a woman!’

Taken by surprise, the rapper, who recently performed at one of President Donald Trump’s inauguration ceremonies earlier in the year, confessed that he was unsure about how to react.

He exclaimed, “Wow, I didn’t expect this! I merely wanted to see the film, not deal with this!” He stressed his point emphatically.

However, his grandson persisted with the question: ‘They mentioned that two women gave birth – isn’t it biologically impossible for them to do so?’

According to Snoop, he expressed that the situation left him bewildered and anxious, causing him to question whether he had walked into a scene from a film in real life. He feels overwhelmed because he isn’t sure how to respond to circumstances he’s unfamiliar with, leaving him feeling disoriented and wondering where this unexpected incident fits within the narrative.

Instead of emphasizing that kids inherently pose questions, Snoop pondered if it’s appropriate for filmmakers to portray LGBTQ+ relationships in productions targeted towards younger audiences.

As a passionate devotee, I find myself questioning, ‘Gosh, these are just young ones we’re dealing with here. The world is already complex enough for them without introducing such complicated matters. Frankly, I can’t claim to have all the answers.’

In this movie, lent voice by Chris Evans, we follow the adventures of Buzz Lightyear. The character Alisha Hawthorne, voiced by Uzo Aduba, is depicted getting married to her spouse Kiko in a quick series of scenes, along with raising a child together.

The event garnered attention well before the movie’s premiere, not just due to being Disney’s inaugural significant LGBTQ+ character, but also for marking the studio’s initial on-screen same-sex kiss.

Originally, that particular scene was considered for removal during the film’s initial screening, but it was brought back following an uproar among Pixar employees.

Fans were quick to slam Snoop’s controversial remarks, which many found to be homophobic.

One YouTube user commented below the podcast, expressing their embarrassment about having liked him previously. ‘Why must it always be straight people who react strongly when they see us represented in media? It’s not an attempt to push an agenda; we just want to see ourselves portrayed and reflected in entertainment and popular culture. Is that really so surprising or wrong?’

Another commented: ‘Being afraid of gay parents in movies is crazy.’

As a lifestyle expert, let me clarify for you in simple terms. It turns out, the key to understanding this situation lies within science, Snoop. In vitro, which is commonly used in scientific research, seems to be the crux of the matter here. And frankly, I find it hard to believe that you’re unfamiliar with such a widely-used term in your current scenario.

Snoop is the grandfather of eight grandchildren.

The rapper’s son, Corde, has four children, although his son Kai passed away as an infant.

At the moment, Snoop’s son, Cordell, is also a father of three, while his daughter, Cori, is currently a mother to a little girl.

Critics are now voicing their disapproval again following Snoop Dogg’s remarks, suggesting he might lose his main role in the upcoming Australian Football League’s Grand Final show.

Previously, the rapper has faced criticism for derogatory comments about the LGBTQ+ community. For instance, he referred to Caitlyn Jenner as a “science project,” and in a 2014 Instagram post, he used an offensive slur.
