Snoop Dogg reveals he is gunning for Gregg Wallace's former MasterChef gig as he says he will recruit stars including Gordon Ramsay to back his pitch

As a seasoned television viewer and food enthusiast with a penchant for rap culture, I find the prospect of Snoop Dogg stepping into Gregg Wallace’s MasterChef shoes quite intriguing! Given my experiences of watching Snoop’s culinary adventures on YouTube and his collaboration with Martha Stewart, I believe he has the charisma and culinary skills to bring a fresh perspective to the show.

Snoop Dogg announced his intention to take over the role previously held by Gregg Wallace on MasterChef, stating that he plans to enlist culinary heavyweights like Gordon Ramsay to bolster his proposal.

53-year-old renowned American rapper openly stated that he takes his culinary pursuits seriously, going so far as to share some cooking advice with renowned chef Gordon Ramsay, as reported by The Mirror.

After being accused of inappropriate behavior by 13 individuals, including news anchor Kirsty Wark, over a span of 17 years and across various shows between the years 2005 and 2022, Gregg resigned from his hosting position on MasterChef.

Currently, the BBC is planning to continue this program for at least the next four years, and Snoop Dogg is expressing interest in a prominent position, even though popular chefs like James Martin are also reportedly being considered for the same role.

Snoop told The Mirror: ‘You better believe Snoop could be the new MasterChef judge.

In the American adaptation of the program, my son Gordon Ramsay serves as a judge. I am confident that, given the opportunity, he would endorse me for a judging role in the UK version as well.

He’s well aware that I’m serious about food, not just joking around. He’s also conscious of the fact that I can prepare meals – I’ve even shared a few cooking tips with him.

Snoop found this role to be the ideal chance, as he had been eager to host a British TV show for quite a while.

The singer’s admission comes after TV veteran Gregg was thrown into a scandal over misconduct.

Gregg had already filmed the forthcoming series for amateur chefs last month with his co-presenter John Torode, 59.

But the 60-year-old is now set to be wiped from the tapes before it is screened next year.

A production insider had previously insisted to TopMob that the series is ‘salvageable’.

According to the source, Gregg and John recorded their critiques on the contestants’ dishes individually.

In other words, John and Gregg were filmed individually using different cameras. It’s possible to edit any two shots, or wider shots that include both of them together.

‘Removing Gregg entirely is a difficult task, but not an impossible one.’

Previously, John traveled abroad to carry on shooting the series, while Irish chef Anna Haugh temporarily filled in for Gregg.

The filming for the upcoming TV series wrapped up on Tuesday afternoon, with plans to air it during Spring 2025.

It is now unclear when the BBC will air the recently recorded episodes.

The former greengrocer has denied behaviour of a sexually harassing nature.

However, he is currently undergoing an investigation led by the prestigious London law firm Lewis Silkin, which has been commissioned by the MasterChef production company Banijay.

John broke his silence on Wednesday but declined to defend his television colleague of 19 years.

As a lifestyle expert, I wholeheartedly endorse the thorough investigation into allegations of inappropriate conduct, including any instances of sexual misconduct, unacceptable behavior, or offensive language.

He said it had been ‘hard’ to keep working after hearing of the allegations.

On Thursday evening, I was glued to my screen, eagerly watching the BBC air the semi-finals of MasterChef: The Professional – a culinary spectacle not to be missed, especially with the esteemed Gregg gracing our screens!

But it has scrapped the scheduled broadcast of two Christmas specials of the cookery show.
