SNL icon Bowen Yang to EXIT cast after seven seasons following wild show bloodbath

Following the surprising and sudden departure of multiple cast members from Saturday Night Live last weekend, another popular performer has announced they are leaving the show.

Bowen Yang’s last episode as a cast member will be this Saturday, with Ariana Grande hosting and Cher performing as the musical guest.

Daily Mail has reached out to Yang and SNL representatives but has not received a response.

Yang, 31, joined SNL as a writer in 2018 before being promoted to the cast for Season 45.

He joined the main cast before Season 47 and quickly proved to be one of the show’s best performers, appearing in seven seasons.

He’s leaving after a wave of cast departures this summer following the end of Season 50, which included Ego Nwodim, Heidi Gardner, Michael Longfellow, Devon Walker, and Emil Wakim.

I was really surprised to hear about Bowen Yang leaving ‘SNL’! It feels like just yesterday Cecily Strong unexpectedly left mid-season during Season 48, and now Bowen’s following suit. It’s definitely a changing time for the show.

Molly Shannon, Dana Carvey and Eddie Murphy also left midseason.

Though his exit comes amid this turbulence, it’s not entirely unexpected.

For several months, comedian Yang has hinted he might be leaving Saturday Night Live, and fans are now preparing for what could be his last performances on the show.
