Smile 2 star Raúl Castillo next to join The Hand That Rocks the Cradle remake
As a dedicated fan of captivating performances and compelling narratives, I am absolutely thrilled about the addition of Raúl Castillo to the cast of The Hand That Rocks the Cradle remake! With his diverse background in film and television, from “Looking” to “Smile 2,” Castillo brings a depth and authenticity that is sure to breathe new life into this classic psychological thriller.
Actor Raúl Castillo, known for “Smile 2,” has just signed on to star in 20th Century Studios’ highly anticipated remake of “The Hand That Rocks the Cradle.” His addition to the cast promises a fresh and intriguing take on the project, as we eagerly anticipate his performance. According to recent reports, Castillo is set to play a supporting role in the film. For more details about his character, check out the information provided below.
Approximately one month has passed since the initial announcement about Mary Elizabeth Winstead (known for her roles in ’10 Cloverfield Lane’ and ‘Black Christmas’) being in talks to join the cast. Now, it seems official that she is indeed a part of the project. Alongside Winstead, Castillo also joins the cast. Maika Monroe, from ‘Longlegs’, was the first to be cast in this remake.
Michelle Garza Cervera is slated as the director based on a script penned by Micah Bloomberg. Moreover, Ted Field will take up the production role via his Radar Pictures, while Michael Schaefer and Mike Larocca will produce for Department M.
The 1992 film is a gripping psychological thriller that revolves around Mrs. Mott, a distraught woman whose world crumbles when her physician husband takes his own life following allegations of sexual misconduct by his patients. Upon learning the identity of one such accuser, she embarks on a quest for retribution against this individual and their family. This is accomplished by adopting a fake persona and insinuating herself into their household as their nanny, with the ultimate goal of causing chaos and ruin from within their home.
In this production, Monroe takes on the main character, Mrs. Mott, whereas Winstead is cast as the accuser, Claire Bartel. Meanwhile, Castillo assumes the role of Matt McCoy, a skilled architect who happens to be Claire’s husband.
In addition to playing Darius Bravo in “Smile 2”, Castillo has made a name for himself by appearing in films like “Night Teeth” and “Mother/Android”. He’s also starred in television series such as “Looking”, “Atypical”, “Seven Seconds”, “Vida”, and “Class of ’09”. Coming up next, you can catch him in the anticipated crime drama miniseries “Task”, scheduled for release in 2025.
