Channel 5 has announced a new thriller called *Missed Call*, which is sure to please fans of the genre. This comes after the success of other recent shows like *The Rumour*, which became a trending hit, and the popular crime drama *The Game*, starring Jason Watkins.
The new series, *Missed Call*, is set in a beautiful French village. It centers around Sarah, a mother whose life is turned upside down when she gets a missed call from her daughter, Katie, who is away on a school trip.
So, I play as Sarah, and when I get to France, it’s like nobody there cares that my daughter, Katie, is missing. The family we’re supposed to stay with and even the local police just seem…unconcerned. But I can’t let it go, and my search for Katie quickly turns into a really intense, high-stakes race against the clock. It’s pretty gripping stuff!

BAFTA-winning actress Joanna Scanlan, known for her recent role in the popular Apple TV series *Slow Horses* (which is back for a fifth season this week), is leading the cast. She’ll also soon be appearing in *Riot Women*, a new BBC drama from the creator of *Happy Valley*, Sally Wainwright, alongside Lorraine Ashbourne.

The new series, *Missed Call*, was written by Matthew Thomas, who also co-created the show. He collaborated with Sally Abbott, known for her work on *Vera* and *Call the Midwife*, and Paul Matthew Thompson, whose credits include *Ridley* and *Shakespeare and Hathaway*.
Missed Call is coming to 5 in the UK, but a release date has not been announced.
