Slow Horses star Jack Lowden’s new all-star movie gets delayed

Actor Jack Lowden, who plays in the series “Slow Horses“, has seen his upcoming film “Ella McCay” push back its release date by approximately three months.

The film that was initially scheduled to premiere on the 19th of September, 2025, has been rescheduled for a debut on the 12th of December (as reported by Variety).

Although the movie hasn’t specified a UK release date yet, it seems probable that it will be released around the same time as its new U.S. date.

As a gamer, I’m eagerly anticipating the upcoming drama series directed by James L. Brooks. In this tale, Emma Mackey from ‘Sex Education’ steps into the shoes of Ella McCay, an ambitious young politician with a heart full of ideals. Juggling her challenging political career and personal family matters, she’s gearing up to assume the role of state governor.

Alongside Lowden and Mackey, the ensemble also includes Jamie Lee Curtis known for her role in Halloween, Ayo Edebiri from The Bear, acting veterans Woody Harrelson and Albert Brooks, Kumail Nanjiani, and Spike Fearn.

Ella McCay makes her return to directing after more than a decade, with her previous work being the 2010 movie titled “How Do You Know“.

Season 5 will follow books six and seven from Mick Herron’s Slough House series, with the Slow Horses finding themselves caught up in a perilous and vengeful game orchestrated by Diana Taverner.

Slow Horses seasons 1-4 are available on Apple TV+. Season 5 is due this summer.
